🍕 Faith Grows by Pizza: A Three-Part Workshop Series 🍕

Come out to St. Ursula Catholic Community for a Container Gardening demonstration with hands on activity on June 22!

🍅 Attendees will leave with their own container they have planted with tomatoes (Roma) and pizza herbs, simple directions they followed to create and plant, and copies of directions for hosting their own Pizza Party Container Garden event. 🪴

👨‍🍳 This event will be followed by a pizza baking workshop and Summer Garden Party on Sunday, August 2nd, at Camp Chapel United Methodist Church using herbs grown in our container gardens.

The workshop series will conclude with a Fall Harvest Fest at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church on Sunday, October 4th, at 3:00 PM.

Our spring Stream Cleanup was a success! 🗑️ Thank you to all who participated on April 25!

☎️💻🔋📱The Green Team collected a whopping 867 lbs (that’s almost half a ton!) of old electronics during our spring drive! Picked up by PCs for People, all of these items will either be refurbished and supplied to local groups in need or be responsibly recycled. Thank you to Helen and John Pentikis for chairing this effort!

Do you have old, unwanted phones, laptops, monitors, printers, computer accessories? 🚫DON’T throw them in the trash! ✅ DO find a local electronics recycling program or save them for our next collection!

The Green Team Church School program was a big success! More than 30 students from preschool to high school participated in activities and books and Bible teachings on the importance of caring for Creation. The recycled paper cross created by middle school and high school students is amazing and beautiful! ✝️ It was a great day!

🌳FREE TREES! 🌳 The Harford County Forestry Boards is offering free tree saplings for anyone interested. Pick up at Oregon Ridge Nature Center. Call 410-887-1815 for more information.

🩺⛑️ 💊 Thank you to all who attended our Second Annual Health Fair! 💚🧘🏼‍♀️🫀

The event, sponsored jointly by the Library, Philoptochos and Green Team ministries of Saint Demetrios, featured many community representatives who shared information about nutrition, mental health care, gardening and more! We had interactive demonstrations of chair yoga, learned about dental health and physical therapy treatments and gained insight into defibrillator use and how to avoid potential poisoning by household chemicals. Fun (and learning) was had by all!
