Thank you to all who donated to our back to school drive last Sunday. One of the 7 objectives of Laudato Si is "Response to the Cry of the Poor". This means promoting eco-justice and defending vulnerable groups, such as low-income families and children. Our back to school drive helped to equitize education. The collected materials went to a local school with students in need.

Season of Creation begins next Tuesday! The theme is "Living Water", drawn from Ezekiel 47:9–12, which describes God’s life-giving water flowing from the temple, restoring barren land, reviving waters, and sustaining flourishing ecosystems .

The symbol: Immersion in Living Water — represents both spiritual transformation and ecological responsibility. It connects baptismal immersion with the healing of creation. It calls for stewardship of water resources, and solidarity with communities affected by water scarcity and pollution.

Pope Leo reminds us that ecological conversion begins within us—but it is meant to flow outward, transforming how we live, how we relate to others, and how we care for our common home. Before Living Water becomes a river that renews the world, it first renews us.

Something to consider: What is flowing from your heart into the world? Is it care or indifference? Hope or discouragement? A desire for justice, peace, and communion?

Season of Creation begins September 1st (World Day of Prayer for Creation) and ends October 4th (the Feast of St. Francis.)

Our Biblical text for this year is drawn from Ezekiel 47: 1- 12, which portrays God’s life-giving water flowing from the temple of God. The river grows deeper and deeper restoring barren land, reviving waters, and sustaining flourishing ecosystems. The vision invites human responsibility: recognising ecological damage, embracing interconnectedness, we are called to immerse ourselves in the water, and actively safeguarding and working for the renewal of creation so that environmental healing and human well-being may flourish together.

A huge thank you to Kaitlyn,Sophia,Erica,David and Obinna for w**ding the church gardens and planting a few things in our parish native garden. They also planted flowers in the containers outside of the office door and mulched the gardens that are just outside of the office. Caring for creation is a work of mercy!
