The good news? We're not completely canceling this event! We have way too many fun activities and prizes planned to let the weather spoil the fun.

We're currently working to secure a new date and will keep everyone updated on Facebook and by email as soon as it's confirmed.

Lessons Learned | Stuck in Survival – Week 1

This week, we explored hypervigilance and why so many caregivers find themselves living in a constant state of high alert. One of our biggest takeaways was this: hypervigilance isn't who you are, it's a survival response. When you're raising a child with high support needs, your nervous system adapts to constantly anticipating what's next in an effort to keep your child safe.

If you find it difficult to relax, feel guilty when you rest, or always expect the next crisis, you're not alone. Your body has been doing exactly what it was designed to do, protect the people you love.

Healing begins with understanding, and understanding begins with giving ourselves the same compassion we so freely give to everyone else.
