🌟 Small Moments, Big Impacts 🌟

Every child deserves a champion—an adult who steps up, hangs out, and shows them that they matter. Right now, we have a growing waiting list of amazing local youth in the Park Rapids area who are ready to welcome a mentor into their lives.

Meet a few of them (names changed for privacy):
⚽ Ben (10): A sports fan who loves soccer, fishing, and is ready for a one-on-one connection.
🎨 Lily (8): An imaginative second-grader who loves drawing, Roblox, and is waiting for some dedicated individual attention.
📝 Maya (15): A creative chatterbox who loves writing and softball, looking for a stable mentor to walk alongside her.
💃 Chloe & Harper (11): Close-knit step-sisters into competitive dance and basketball who are excited to experience Kinship!

Becoming a mentor isn’t about being perfect. It’s just about introducing a youth to the simple, everyday things you already love to do.

⚾️ Scoreboard: 0, Memories made: 100!

Yesterday, Kinship took 26 of our amazing mentors, mentees, waiting kids, and community members to the Twins game! Even though the Twins took an 8-0 loss, the energy, smiles, and stadium snacks made it a major win for our Kinship family. 💙❤️

A beautiful chapter comes to a close. 💛

After many wonderful years together, Ann and Alicia are officially celebrating their match closure. While it is always bittersweet to reach this milestone, looking back at the incredible journey they’ve shared brings nothing but smiles and gratitude.

Both Ann and Alicia have spent time reflecting on the profound, positive impact they’ve had on each other's lives. In fact, Alicia shared that she might not have even finished school without Ann’s unwavering support, guidance, and friendship by her side. 🎓✨

This is exactly what Kinship is all about—building lifelong bonds, empowering youth, and changing lives for the better. Thank you, Ann, for your years of dedication as a mentor, and thank you, Alicia, for sharing your journey with us. We are so incredibly proud of you both!

Communication is a muscle—and our Kinship mentors just got a major workout! 💪🗣️

Thanks to an awesome training with Scott Nygaard of Legacy Group, LLC, our volunteers have been practicing Motivational Interviewing (MI)—an incredible tool that helps youth discover their own internal motivation and potential.

The weekend is finally here! 🪵🌲

We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of Minnesota. This weekend is a great reminder to unplug, step outside, and enjoy the sunshine with the young people in our lives.
