F.E.L.T. (Feeding Empty Little Tummies)

F.E.L.T. (Feeding Empty Little Tummies) Feeding Empty Little Tummies is dedicated to feeding Manatee County's homeless and food insecure students. We are Manatee County’s original backpack program.

Ending childhood hunger…one backpack at a time! Every week volunteers fill donated backpacks with nutritious meals to ensure each child's nutritional needs are met. FELT delivers the backpacks to Manatee County schools that discreetly dispense them to the students identified by Project Heart as being homeless. Mid-week, volunteers pick up the empty backpacks, refill them and the cycle goes on...

Through the generosity of A.A.U.W., each child got a book of his or her own this summer. FELT Inc. is dedicated to feeding the homeless children, but knows they are still kids. So, weekly we sneak in a treat, like a lollipop. We also pack toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, etc....., when supplies permit.
