Hello Community Council Partners!
MatSu Valley Planning for Transportation (MVP) is pleased to formally announce the opening of our Formal Transportation Project Nomination Period, soliciting projects for inclusion in our first Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP).
This nomination period is a critical step in developing a prioritized, long-range transportation investment strategy for the Greater Core Area of Mat-Su. Projects submitted through this process will be reviewed, evaluated, and prioritized by MVP for potential inclusion in the MTP. Projects must be included in the MTP to be eligible to receive federal funding through MVP.
How your community council can get involved in this process:
As a community council, you have a keen understanding of your community's most pressing transportation issues and opportunities. We encourage you to share your suggestions for potential transportation projects and priorities within your community via resolution or letter of support to MVP. Projects that are backed by resolution or letter of support may receive higher scores as part of our project evaluation, scoring, and prioritization process. We will ensure that any resolutions or letters of support are also shared with our partners at the MSB, DOT, City of Wasila, and City of Palmer as appropriate.
