Bryan Childs, representing The Barn Theatre, joined us as our guest speaker and shared an inspiring update on the theater’s work and an exciting new fundraising opportunity. The “New Vision” fundraising campaign includes enclosing the lobby and upgrading the restrooms. A matching-grant opportunity is available: the theater is working to raise an additional $50,000 that will help it reach a $100,000 goal.

Three club members received Paul Harris awards from President Linda Weiksnar. This award expresses appreciation for substantial contributions to Rotary International’s humanitarian and educational programs. Thank you Gene VanCuren, Dave Geller and Kathy Lockhart for your ongoing dedication to our club and the world.

Okay is comfortable.
Okay is settling for the status quo.
Okay is accepting things the way they are.

But that’s not why we serve.

It’s not why we donate.
It’s not why we give our time, share our skills, roll up our sleeves and help our communities, and our world.

We’re not in Rotary to be comfortable.

We’re here to make a difference.
We’re here to challenge what can be better.
We’re here to create change and build a better world for everyone.

So no… being a Rotary member is not just okay.

Being a Rotary member is AWESOME!

Members Gene, John, Max and Justin spent time in the warehouse, joined today by Pat, a member of the Stuart noon club. Stepping up to sort food for families and their pets is a fun way to spend the morning. Want to join us doing good in our community with local nonprofits? Contact us! Rotary is an apolitical, nonreligious organization.

Club members and family members spent Saturday afternoon preparing decorations for our tree at the Festival of Giving and prepping for our craft tables at the Holiday Village in Palm City and Family Night at the Festival of Giving. Fellowship, fun and good food make for a productive time! Come see us in November and December!

First Stuart Sunrise Rotary Club Interact meeting at lunch today was standing room only!

Despite some tech issues, our President and VP shared about what we do and open officer positions.

It’s going to be a great year living out the motto of “service above self” here at Clark!
