🦋 What if a butterfly could tell the story of a farm?

This monarch was photographed right here at Orkestai Farm by CSA member Nancy Magnatta.

Not long ago, it was a caterpillar making its way across one of our cucumber leaves. Today it reminds us that some of life’s most meaningful transformations happen slowly, quietly, and often out of sight.

For more than a decade, Orkestai Farm has been growing more than vegetables. Together with our remarkable Neurodiverse Farmers, we’ve been cultivating belonging, creativity, ecological stewardship, and a community rooted in the living world.

🌕 Harvest Moon is our annual celebration of the abundance of the land, where we honor what has grown and gather to nurture what comes next.

Join us on Saturday, October 3 for an unforgettable autumn evening of farm-fresh food, local libations, live music by Andes Manta, community art, dancing, and joyful celebration beneath the harvest sky.

🌿 Early Bird tickets are available through September 14.

Come celebrate the harvest. Leave inspired by what is just beginning to grow.

CSA MEMBER FEATURE: These birds were photographed at Orkestai Farm by Gautham Peddibhotla Gautham, a bird photographer, Orkestai CSA member, and valued member of our wider community.
Gautham’s images invite us to notice some of the lives moving through the farm alongside us. They remind us that the land is not simply where our work takes place, but a living community that continually asks us to slow down and look more closely.

A selection of Gautham’s photography will be featured in “Discover Nature Through a New Lens,” presented by the North Shore Land Alliance at Humes Preserve.
Friday, July 24–Thursday, September 3, 2026

The exhibition offers an opportunity to encounter the natural world through Gautham’s close observation of landscapes, wildlife, and the quiet details that can otherwise pass unnoticed.

🥕 Beat the heat. Beet the heat. Then beach the day. 🌊

The harvest is especially beautiful this morning, and everything was grown right here at Orkestai Farm in Planting Fields.

Fresh from the field:
🥕 Sweet carrots
❤️ Gorgeous beets
🌿 Crisp celery
🥬 Plus plenty more seasonal vegetables.

Come early while it’s still not roasting, enjoy a walk through the gardens (or get back in you A/C vehicle), and head home with vegetables just harvested.

📍 Planting Fields Main Lot @ The Pavilion
🕘 Today, starting at 9:00 AM until the cooler is lighter or the sun gets bossy… whichever comes first. 🌞

We’ll be there with fresh food, good conversation, and a little shade before summer turns up the dial. See you soon!

Orkestai has a NEW Look!!! Come check it out!

Our NEW deer fence is now in place—a practical step that helps us protect our veggies throughout the growing season.

We value sharing this landscape with wildlife and recognize that we are part of a larger living system. At the same time, growing food requires thoughtful boundaries. This fence helps us reduce crop losses while continuing to coexist with the many animals that call this place home.

It is also the first of several infrastructure improvements planned as Orkestai continues to grow and strengthen its capacity for farming, learning, and community gathering.

If you are curious about what is changing, what we are building toward, or how expressive agriculture takes shape on the ground, come visit or send us a message. We are always glad to share what we are learning.

Community Day at Orkestai Farm
Saturday, June 13 | 10:00 AM–Noon
Bring a friend, family member, neighbor, or simply yourself.
Community Day is free and open to all.
Join us for a morning of shared work and connection on the farm. Help tend crops, care for growing spaces, and experience what it feels like to step into the rhythms of a human-scale farm, even if only for a few hours. We’ll close our time together with a community movement circle—an opportunity to gather, reflect, and connect through simple shared movement.
🌱 Free and open to all
🌱 Kids welcome
🌱 Neurodiversity inclusive
🌱 No experience necessary
At Orkestai, we understand farming not only as growing food, but as a practice of belonging—to land, to one another, and to the wider web of life.
We hope you’ll join us.

🌱 Community Day is tomorrow, May 9th from 10 AM–Noon at Orkestai Farm! Rain or Shine!
