A Present Help Movement connects friends, families, and communities to serve as God's hands, feet, and mouthpiece while helping others in need.

Partnership is the heartbeat of this movement. I want to take a moment to highlight our incredible partners at CarePatrol Gastonia for their support of our Heritage Social Brunch (HSB) on June 7, 2026, in Charlotte.

Events like HSB aren’t just about a meal; they fuel our mission to serve our neighbors through programs like Saturday Serve. When partners like step up, it empowers us to keep showing up for the community. Speaking of showing up: have you considered bringing your work group or your family to serve with us?

Our Charlotte Saturday Serve happens every 3rd Saturday. We meet at 7th Street Market and partner with Crisis Assistance Ministry to make a real impact.

What to expect:

2. Break into teams
3. Deploy for hands-on impact
4. Regroup & celebrate

I am so excited to share a glimpse of what’s coming for the Heritage Social Brunch on June 7 in Charlotte! This atmosphere is all about celebrating our culture and the strength of our community. Knowing that every bit of the net proceeds goes directly to supporting Present Help Movement makes this reveal even more powerful.

But the heart of our movement beats every single month. I want to invite you to bring your family, your group, or your coworkers to join us for Saturday Serve. Whether you’re in Charlotte meeting us on the 3rd Saturday at 7th Street Market with Crisis Assistance Ministry, or in the DMV on the 1st Saturday at Harborside Hotel with UCAP, there is a place for you. It’s a beautiful thing to see neighbors serving neighbors with an interaction of dignity and love.

I’m talking to our churches, work teams, and families: there’s a unique joy in serving alongside your community. We’re meeting at 7th Street Market to support our partner, Crisis Assistance Ministry, and ensure an interaction of dignity and love with our neighbors. Caregiving is a profound act of love, but it was never intended to be a solo mission. In our latest installment of "The Caregiver’s Blueprint" series: inspired by the expert insights of Lisa Washington: we are focusing on a vital necessity: Building Your Support System.

As Founder and President of Present Help Movement, I’ve seen how the weight of responsibility can lead to burnout when carried alone. My partner and Vice President, Tonya Glenn, and I advocate for the power of delegation. Asking for help isn't a sign of weakness; it’s a strategy for sustainability. By sharing the load, we ensure every interaction of dignity and love remains heartfelt and present for our neighbors.

Whether you are in Charlotte, NC; Washington, DC; Maryland (Prince George’s, Montgomery, and Charles Counties); or Virginia (Arlington and Alexandria), we are building a network where no one serves in isolation.

June 7 has been officially declared Diaspora Heritage Day in Charlotte by Mayor Vi Alexander Lyles : and Heritage Social Brunch is the experience at the center of it. This is not just brunch. This is the room the city is celebrating.

Real growth isn't just about what people see on the front lines; it’s about the strength and integrity of the foundation we build upon.

As the Founder and President of Present Help Movement, I know that our impact is only as strong as the leaders standing behind it. That’s why I’m proud to spotlight Dianna Cutts.

As our Treasurer, Dianna is the backbone of our financial health. She keeps our mission grounded with her expert focus on compliance, reporting, and internal audits. To some, this might just look like numbers, but to us, it is stewardship. Her dedication ensures that every resource we have is positioned to serve our neighbors through an interaction of dignity and love.

To our DMV family: We are out serving every first Saturday of the month (except holidays) at the Harborside Hotel. We couldn’t do this work without the strength of our partners at UCAP.

Our first DMV Saturday Serve at UCAP was a beautiful success! My heart is full seeing our community come together to serve a full meal to women and children. Beyond the food, it was about the connection: counseling, playing games with the youth, and making sure everyone knew they were seen. It’s an interaction of dignity and love that makes the movement real.

Huge thanks to and the incredible team in Prince George’s County, especially Tawanna Bentley and Lena Flores Ali, for leading with such grace.

Now, we’re shifting gears to the Queen City. Charlotte, we’ll see you for our 3rd Saturday Serve on May 16! We’re meeting at 7th Street Market to support our partners at Crisis Assistance Ministry. Whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth, come ready to serve. Just bring yourself, comfortable clothes, and a willing heart. Supplies are always provided.
