A Present Help Movement connects friends, families, and communities to serve as God's hands, feet, and mouthpiece while helping others in need.

THANK YOU TO OUR DONORS! We couldn't do it without you!

**526 items. 26 donors. 16 categories. All for families at UCAP shelter in Capitol Heights, MD.**

Here's what our community collected:

🛏️ LINENS: 17 twin sheet sets, 40 pillow protectors, 50 washcloth & towel sets

🧴 TOILETRIES: 15 Dove body wash variety packs, 84 Dove bar soaps, 20 Suave deodorants, 10 Cantu shampoo & conditioner sets, 30 Jergens lotions, 20 Colgate toothpastes, 60 toothbrush packs

👶 BABY CARE: 20 Johnson's baby washes, 30 baby shampoos, 10 baby lotions, 30 infant washcloths

🩷 FEMININE HYGIENE: 60 Always thin pads, 30 Tampax tampons

This is what happens when people show up, not once, but consistently. Since May 2025, A Present Help Movement has partnered with UCAP to meet real needs for families experiencing homelessness.

Welcome to the board, Carla Truitt. 👏

I'm proud to announce that Carla has joined the Present Help Movement Board of Directors as our Fundraising Chair.

Carla is a mom from Prince George's County who took a leap of faith to follow her lifelong dream of designing foldable flat shoes for bold, stylish women. During a transitional season, she launched Eight Royale, a contemporary shoe brand built around comfort, style, courage, and new beginnings. Follow her journey at Eight Royale.

Carla started something new when the path wasn't clear. That's the kind of faith and persistence this Movement runs on.

Two cities. One mission.

Saturday Serve is running strong in both Charlotte, NC (every 3rd Saturday) and the DMV (every 1st Saturday).

Every month, volunteers check in, meet their team leads, break into project teams, and serve their neighbors through:

• Care packages and lunch bags
• Lawn care for seniors
• Handy work and home repairs
• Senior companionship visits
• Youth mentorship and life skills
• Community workshops
• Direct street outreach

No experience needed. All supplies provided. Just bring yourself.

If you've been watching from the sidelines, consider this your invitation. A Present Help Movement is moving (in Charlotte, in the DMV, and beyond) and it starts on a Saturday morning.

Every month, volunteers show up, meet their team leads, and serve their neighbors: care packages, lawn care for seniors, handy work, youth mentorship, and more.

Never volunteered before? Perfect : you're exactly who we're looking for. 💜

Our 3rd Saturday Serve projects are designed to be accessible and social. You don't need special skills or experience : just a willing heart and a couple of hours on a Saturday morning. We check you in, walk you through orientation, and place you alongside a team of friendly faces. Before you know it, you'll be packing essentials, sorting donations, or delivering a smile to a family in need.

The best part? You'll leave having met new neighbors, shared some laughs, and made a real difference in Charlotte.

This Saturday, we're honored to be back at United Communities Against Poverty (UCAP) spending the day with the incredible women and children they serve.

Together, we'll be creating vision boards, sharing meaningful conversations, enjoying lunch, and reminding one another that hope begins with seeing what's possible.

We believe that serving goes beyond meeting immediate needs: it's about encouraging dreams, building confidence, and letting people know they are seen, valued, and supported.

If you'd like to make a difference, we'd love to have you join us. Whether you volunteer, donate, or simply help spread the word, every act of kindness matters.
