I have just finished doing my surprise inspection of the Jemison and I have to admit that I have never seen a ship in such top shape. The fleet had even delivered a few new shuttles for our secondary shuttlebay which we will have to give names eventually.

For the weekend, I have given the crew some much R&R at our home port. Not before, I celebrated the birthday of our Communications Officer - CDR Jones and rubbed shoulders with the crew. The more I get to know them, the more I am grateful for their acceptance on this starship

For some of us, its our annual command convention at Station Wyndham which is a new facility for the fleet. I do hope that the new station has some great recreation activities for me to enjoy. I am looking to seeing some old familiar faces while exploring a new region in the Alpha Quadrant.

After spending some time with my former executive officer turned commanding officer who took command of my former ship, I received word from the engineering team that we have to extend our stay at Spacedock for some much-needed repairs in order to be ready for our next mission. According to our Vice Chief Engineer, CMDR Kusanagi, we have passed our warp field and quantum warp field tests with flying colors. Communications Officer LTJG Nahn and Chief Communications Officer LTJG Furrun had spent time in the ship’s library learning some new dialects as some of our future missions will be to assist with the newest members of the Federation.

During this week, I spent sometime going between home in Orlando visiting family & friends and Starfleet Headquarters in San Francisco giving many debriefs about our nine-month shakedown cruise. Sometimes I wonder if this Odyssey Class is ready for some new frontiers to come but after nine glorious months, I can honestly say…. Yes! CAPT Savage and the Second Officer are also in San Fran enjoying some quiet time after many days of advanced command training. While the rest of the crew is enjoying some extended shore leave.

Now onto my next tough decision – Lisbon for some fine cuisine, Sydney to see an opera or Alpha Centauri for its beautiful purple waters. Decisions, decisions.

After a brief skirmish with some Meskan raiders near the planet Meska III, we’ve been ordered back to Spacedock by Admiral Gordon for our shakedown cruise has officially ended. As I look around the bridge and walked the now familiar corridors of my new command, I cannot help but wonder the training adventures we had so far in our time together. I like the fact that our crew is working together in perfect harmony as the new department chiefs worked with the Spacedock personnel with their final inspections to be an official Starfleet vessel very soon.

While I have given the crew some much deserved shore leave for their nine month voyage, I saw a familiar vessel that’s near and dear to my heart and had to pay a visit & reunite with an old friend…..
