BCSC is North America’s leading organization on issues affecting the U.S. border and maritime trade, travel, and security.

Founded in 2013, the Border Commerce and Security Council (BCSC) is a grassroots, non-profit organization that serves as a forum for participants to address key issues affecting trade and security issues that affect the economic vitality of the North America region. Working with NAFTA countries, the BCSC advocates for policies and initiatives designed to improve bi-cultural understanding that lead to improved business opportunities and trade relations. borders, representing a large corporate network of business leaders from over 40 international companies concerned with improving the security on our borders while facilitating trade and business opportunities. The Border Commerce and Security Council’s vision is to be the nation’s premier organization for fostering relationships between private sector business leaders and the governments of Canada, Mexico and the United States that will enhance North America’s economic health and border security. Mission
The mission of the Border Commerce and Security Council is to strengthen the economic competitiveness of North America through cross-border cooperation between business and governments by supporting public policy measures that increase trade, secure our borders and reduce regulatory burdens.

Chairing the 4th Annual IDGA Border Technology Summit ( ) in San Diego, CA, and breaking attendance records with a star-studded lineup of government agency leaders updating industry and discussing requirements for the next year.

This year, 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟱𝟬𝟬 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨.𝗦. 𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 came together to exchange perspectives, explore emerging capabilities and tackle some of the most pressing operational and technology challenges facing the border mission today.

Ensuring public and private dialogue is paramount. Thank you to the IDGA team, Border Commerce and Security Council members, and all the participants for another successful episode. See you at our Port Security and Trade Summit in Miami in December!

Visiting with the heroes protecting our borders. Border Patrol, San Diego Sector Imperial Beach Station, and the Office of Field Operations (U.S. Customs), San Ysidro Port of Entry. Nothing is better than learning from real-world operations on the ground to understand the best requirements and advancements to take the mission to the next level. Building on discussions from previous years, the 2026 agenda places an even stronger focus on integrated operations, operational intelligence, and technology modernization across air, land, maritime, and cyber domains. Looking forward to sharing insights and connecting with peers across the border security community.

I want to thank the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) office of U.S. Customs and Border Protection within the Department of Homeland Security for participating in this unique Supply and Security Forum sponsored by the City of Monterrey and its Mayor Adrián de la Garza, COMCE Noreste, and the Border Commerce and Security Council.

Ensuring fast, secure, and efficient trade is paramount to the safety of all countries, and maximum participation among manufacturers, transport companies, customs brokers, and all involved is key to taking the precautions needed to stay safe.

These times require people who believe a major change can affect the entire continent. We need more of these guys to put the country first instead of lining their own pockets, and ensure we are holding people accountable- not only the ones who operate, but, more importantly, the politicians who enable!
