3 years ago today, the Jewish World changed forever. The massacre committed on the Israeli people left both Israel and the diaspora in a state of shock and panic. Our hearts are forever with those lost and taken hostage on that day.
 
Since then, we have been constantly transforming and adapting our approaches to enriching Jewish teen life in Baltimore- helping teens connect to their Jewish identity, pride and find comfort in this community.
 
We Will Dance Again was a night of commemoration through music, dance, and community- honoring those who are unable to dance with us today. The teens were prompted to post notes of hope for people who continue to feel the effects of 10/7, as well as remembering those who lost their lives that day.
 
At 4Front, we turn our focus to hope. While the Jewish landscape is always changing, we aim to equip every Jewish teen with tools and knowledge to become confident and proud young Jewish leaders.

We were honored to host the renowned educator and teen engagement expert Dr. David Bryfman yesterday for thought provoking discussion and insights from his new book “Heroism and Hope: Recharging Israel Education in a post-October 7 world”.

On the cusp of the 3 year anniversary, it was so meaningful to join together with other educators and Jewish professionals from around our community to talk about Oct 7- its impact on our lives and why our work is more important than ever.

MSLC kicked off what is sure to be an incredible year last night!
This year, we’re focusing on building stronger leaders, from our heads to our toes! We’re excited for a year filled with leadership, connection, fun, and plenty of opportunities to grow.

What happens when teens are given a real seat at the table? Gesher Teen Board pairs teens with local Jewish organizations where they serve as non-voting members of the board, giving them a firsthand look at how organizations make decisions, address challenges, set priorities, and work to strengthen our community. Peer Leadership Fellows has officially begun! Last night we held PLF Orientation for 27 teens and their parents! We’re looking forward to an incredible year of developing and using relational engagement skills and having a lot of fun as a cohort along the way! Next up — Our Shabbaton Weekend Retreat!

Middle school just got a LOT more interesting!
Whether they want to lead, compete, create, hang out, or try something new, there’s something for every middle schooler through 4Front and the Jewish Community Center (JCC) of Greater Baltimore!

Our year begins next week with the launch of Middle School Leadership Council on September 29! MSLC gives 6th–8th graders a chance to build leadership skills and make new friends while having a ton of fun!
