What a wonderful Rotary meeting this week!
Rotary President Mimi Quiroz had the pleasure of introducing special guests from the Owen County Chamber of Commerce President Shadoe Aldrige and Director Jenni Duncan.
Shadoe shared the many ways the Chamber is making a positive impact in Owen County, from supporting local businesses with ribbon cuttings and promoting economic growth to providing scholarships, hosting the Back-to-School Breakfast, organizing community events, and creating opportunities that bring people together. Their dedication, professionalism, and passion for serving Owen County are evident in everything they do, and we are grateful for their leadership.
Jenni also gave us an exciting preview of the Wide Open Rodeo, taking place this weekend! This one-of-a-kind event has brought regional and even international attention to Owen County while raising funds for the Wyatt Cole Memorial Fund Scholarship. It's a great example of how a community event can both entertain and give back.

At our last meeting, our Rotarian Tom Olds proudly introduced his grandson, Grayson Olds, who shared his experience participating in Kentucky Changers. We enjoyed hearing about this incredible mission program through his perspective. We were also proud to learn that his family including his mom, sister, and cousins participated as well.
Kentucky Changers is a faith-based ministry that brings students and adults together to provide free home repairs for families in need across Kentucky. Volunteers spend a week building wheelchair ramps and decks, painting, repairing porches, replacing siding, and completing other projects that improve the lives of homeowners while putting their faith into action.
This year was especially exciting because it was the first time Owen County participated.
This picture of Tom and TJ listening as Grayson gave his presentation is one of our favorites. The pride on their faces says it all. It was also wonderful to see our Rotary members cheering him on. At just 14 years old, Grayson did an outstanding job sharing his experience with our club.
Thank you, Grayson, and thank you to the entire Kentucky Changers crew for your hard work, you are all creating a lasting impact in Owen county!!

The Owenton Rotary Club would like to recognize and say THANK YOU, to our Past President, Lauren Keith, for her year of leadership, dedication, and service to our club.
Serving as Rotary President is both an honor and a responsibility. It takes time, patience, commitment, and many hours of work behind the scenes. From leading meetings and projects to supporting members and representing our club in the community, Lauren gave her time and energy to help our club continue its mission of service.
This year was not without its challenges, but Lauren met them with determination and worked hard to accomplish the goals she set for our club. With the guidance, encouragement, and support of fellow Rotarians, our club accomplished many things together. Every meeting, service project, and event was made possible through teamwork and the commitment of our members.
We sincerely thank Lauren for her leadership, dedication, and the many hours she invested in serving our club and our community. We are grateful for all she has done and look forward to continuing to serve alongside her as we Create Lasting Impact throughout Owen County.

Today’s Community Wide Service was a wonderful gathering with a reflective and meaningful message by Pastor Dylan Wainscott. Since 1953 the Owenton Rotary Club has proudly recognized individuals who have made lasting difference in our community by presenting the Owen Countian of the Year Award. This year we recognize Chief Gregg Estes on this well deserved honor!
