I've been in contact with SHRM leaders and members from Southeastern Kentucky, and the reports from Pulaski and Laurel Counties are heartbreaking. The extent of the damage is staggering, and communities are facing a long road to recovery. To provide immediate and long-term support, we are encouraging financial contributions through the United Way of Laurel County, which has been designated by local leadership as the official disaster recovery partner. This organization has a strong track record and deep roots in the community.
How to Support:

100% of donations will stay in Laurel County, with zero administrative fees
Funds will be used for both immediate needs and long-term recovery
Relief efforts include housing support, homelessness prevention, home repair, childrenโs services, and more

As HR professionals and community leaders, we are uniquely positioned to make an impactโby sharing resources, organizing local support, and contributing where we can. Your voice and action matter during times like this. I will be in touch with other opportunities to volunteer and donate as we are made aware of specific needs.
