Cars For Change
We are so thankful for the cars that get donated to Bridge to Hope. Some of the cars need some work and we are able to fix them and teach others about the basics of car maintenance. As a result we are able to assist individuals with cars that need reliable transportation.

Sammara needed a car for work, her family, and taking care of the daily tasks of living in Oswego. We are so glad we could help her out.

Without the generosity of our community all that Bridge to Hope does would not be possible.

Each Monday night we have a Bible Study for the participants of Bridge to Hope.

For the last 6 months we have replaced one Monday evening Bible study with enjoying a home cooked meal with the guys. Mount Pleasant Methodist Church has been supplying the meal for us and have taken the time to begin to build meaningful relationships with the guys. We so appreciate this church and their example of showing love in a practical way.

To protect the safety of our volunteers, donors, and shoppers, we decided it was best to stay closed today and let the city clear the streets! We are planning to be open again tomorrow (Thursday), but will keep you posted if that changes!

Be safe friends!

We are thankful to be able to assist Seth purchasing this car through our Cars for Change program. Having a car will help him with transportation to work and the ability to stay connected with family. Seth is part of our Bridge to Hope program and we are excited to see the positive choices he is making in his life.

If you have a car you would like to donate to our Cars for change program please contact us.

On Friday night, one of our volunteers lost everything in a house fire. Tamie has served our community faithfully daily at Second Chances the last couple of years. She has been caring for her grandchildren and her brother and is now homeless. Please consider giving to assist this family in need.

We are so thankful for NBT bank for collecting coats, gloves and hats to assist those in need in our community. It is such an encouragement to see the support from our community for Bridge to Hope.

As a part of Bridge to Hope the items were distributed through our thrift store Second Chances.

What an incredible turnout for our 5TH ANNUAL WINTER WEAR GIVEAWAY!! Bridge to Hope & Desens House partnered together to throw this incredible event and it was our biggest turnout yet! Ready for some stats?!

🧥 We gave away FREE winter items to 129 FAMILIES today!! This was a total of 295 INDIVIDUALS!! We could have never imagined that God would provide so big for us today! (AND we have LOTS of winter items left at Second Chances for the regular business hours)

☕️ 129 families meant a LOT of hot cocoa and snacks. The Desens House supplied 5 gallons of hot cocoa, 16 pies, 10 dozen donuts, 10 boxes of coffee, and a partridge in a pear tree 🐦🤭😂

✂️ The Hometown Barbershop stunned us with 6 BARBERS and 46 FREE HAIRCUTS which equated to over $2600 worth of FREE fades and other fancy haircut words 🙃

🧍‍♂️🧍‍♀️We had over 50 VOLUNTEERS today helping us to make all the things happen! From whipped cream on cocoa, to stickers, to personal shoppers and hanger runners, we had a BLAST connecting with the community today!

🏘️ We had 7 COMMUNITY partners today join us:
Haven of Hope
Farnham Family Services
ACR Health
Conifer Park
OCO
DSS
Elim Grace Church Prayer Team

We could NOT have done this without the support of our community, sharing their hearts & resources to those in need.💛

📚 Even better than the free items were the stories!! We discussed in our “family volunteer” meeting today that this was NOT about coats or cuts, but about connection, community and love. Wade Smith shared an incredible encouragement and prayer at the start of the event, reminding us that community is the key to this thing!

Thank you. Thank you for praying, supporting, showing up, laughing with us, loving us, and just being such an incredible community! We love this event every year and are so pleased with how God showed up today!
