What an incredible weekend at the 2026 California YFR Summer Leaders Conference hosted by our State Chair August! We kicked things off at The Mission Farm, a two-acre volunteer farm operated by a local church that donates 100% of its harvest to the community food bank. Alongside fellow YFR members, we harvested more than 600 pounds of fresh produce, including corn, tomatoes, zucchini, bell peppers, jalapeños, summersquash, and cucumbers. Napa YFR’s partnershipwith the farm is a great example of agriculture giving back and making a direct impact in the community. Next, we toured the Culinary Institute of America, where we explored their campus and on-sitegardens that supply fresh herbs and produce to both their teaching kitchens and restaurant. We also had the opportunity to visit Beckstoffer Winery, where their winemaker Tim shared the winery’s history and walked us through their winemaking process. The tasting was a bonus, with the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon being our favorite . Saturday was dedicated to professional development, with valuable discussions focused on strengtheningour leadership skills, expanding the impact of Butte County Farm Bureau YFR, and building stronger relationships within our chapter and the communities we serve. A huge thank you to Napa YFR for hosting such an inspiring weekend. We appreciate the hospitality, the connections, and the opportunity to learn from the incredible people and agriculture that make Napa County so special!
