Our neighbor, Lord's Gym, is putting on the Lord's Gym Kids Mud Run in Oroville this weekend! 🚨

It's a great local family event that is a lot of fun, and they are such great community members to organize it for everybody!

Homelessness is a profound loss of safety, wellness, and basic human solace. A key to a permanent apartment represents the moment a person can feel they have transitioned from a state of constant survival back into being a human being, and that quiet click of a front door closing behind them is the sweetest sound of safety they may have ever heard in their lives.

THAT’S WHY WE’RE HERE. We are here to end homelessness in Oroville one person, and one family at a time.

“I want to know God.” 🕊

We thought that’s a pretty cool way to say hello.
So we said hello.
She said she has lived in Oroville all her life.
She said she wasn’t homeless.
She wasn’t addicted or starving.

She just wanted
to know God.

So, her soul was living on the street.
She was addicted to a directionless life.
And her hopes and dreams were starving.
Now she knows. She get’s it.
Now she says she’s happy. And so are we.

It’s a profound structural paradox where housing exists as a commodity rather than a human right, creating a system where vacant properties coexist with unhoused populations.

Homelessness is more than a missing roof, it is the loss of a place to be restored, safe, and human. The irony here is that society has spaces meant for safety that are empty, while people are forced to live in survival mode, searching for basic needs.
