An unexpected Race Day for the Wayside Cross Ministries team in the Chicago area! Storms including lightening caused their half marathon to be cancelled. But the runners had trained hard and wanted to run their race. So the following weekend, Up and Running Again volunteers marked a 13.1 mile course and the runners set out. Way to go Chicago team for not giving up on your goal, even when it didn’t go how anyone expected! And a big thank you to all the Chicago area volunteers who made this race possible.

New shoes for Orange County and Long Beach teams! What a great day celebrating all these runners have accomplished so far in their training. A special shoutout to Fleet Feet Laguna Niguel for the care and attention given in fitting our runners and to an anonymous donor who gave $500 on the spot to outfit these runners with new shoes. Thank you to all who give to make this possible!
