PAL with a Senior We want to do something every month for those in assisted living. For each holiday, we will take goodie bags with cookies, candy, and other gifts.

My mom has Alzheimers and Dementia and has been in private homes and assisted living since 2009. On holidays, I always purchased things for that holiday for the folks there. In April 2014, I had to move my mom to another place. It is an actual Assisted Living facility and in the months visiting her a couple times a week, I see there are rarely visitors.

My husband and I are Santa and Mrs. Claus during the holidays. While playing Mrs. Claus, the idea came to me - we should go on Christmas Day and bring gifts. I tried to get some donations from Toys for Tots, police, fire, etc., but did not have any luck, to my surprise. A couple friends and I got some gifts, blankets, candy and so on and gave to the seniors on Christmas Day. The smiles and the excitement were priceless. So we want to do something every month. On each holiday, we take goodie bags with cookies and candy.
