JPII - Today we celebrate St. Pius X, who was Pope from 1903 until he died in 1914. Despite his role as Pope, he frequently shared evening meals with priests and often left the Vatican unnoticed to bring comfort to the sick in local hospitals.

He encouraged the frequent reception of Holy Communion and lowered the age at which children could receive their First Communion.
