Memorial Day 2026 🇺🇸
Today we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in our Armed Forces. Memorial Day is a solemn day of remembrance for those who gave their lives defending the freedoms we enjoy every single day.

Because of their courage, their selflessness, and their unwavering commitment to duty, we get to live in a nation where we can speak freely, worship as we choose, and pursue the American Dream. Their sacrifice was not in vain, and it should never be forgotten.

Today, let’s take a moment to:
• Thank the families who lost loved ones — the Gold Star families who carry that grief every day.
• Visit a cemetery or memorial if you can, or simply say a quiet prayer of gratitude.
• Teach our children what this day truly means.

Freedom isn’t free. It has always come at a tremendous cost. To all who served and especially to those who never came home — we remember you. We honor you. We are forever grateful.

Meet Kaleb G., Senior at Fivay High School and this year’s recipient of the Gayla K. Carr Memorial Future First Responder Scholarship sponsored by Krewe De Forti. Kaleb will be working towards a program in Criminal Justice at the University of Northern Georgia.

Presenting this year’s award was CDR Sean Carr and Capt Mike Eldert. Kaleb’s name will be engraved and added to the perpetual plaque of scholarship recipients.
