Exciting news - Ector County Library has been accredited through the Texas State Library and Archives Commission for the 2027 fiscal year! 🎉
The accreditation recognizes the library for meeting statewide standards for public library service in areas such as staffing, hours of operation, quality collections and resources, engaging programs, and technology access! It reflects our team's true commitment to creating a welcoming and accessible library that continues to grow with the needs of our community.
But, what does this mean for you, the patron? It helps open the door to resources and opportunities that allow us to offer even more to our patrons, including:
📚 Statewide InterLibrary Loan (ILL) - Connects collections across the state, giving you access to materials beyond what's available on our shelves.
💻 TexShare Programs - Gives eligible cardholders access to participating libraries across Texas through the TexShare Card program, plus access to valuable online resources through TexShare Databases.
💲 Grants & Funding - Provides us opportunities to bring additional resources!
Thank you for continuing to read, learn, explore, and grow with us.. Here's to another great year!
