We’re taking a break from the silly posts to take a moment for Dolly Parton. We are so saddened to of her passing. Dolly dedicated her life to music, kindness and the mission of giving children the chance to have access to books through her program Imagination Library. Her legacy will live on for many years and all public libraries in the nation. We will always love you, Dolly 💖💖

Along with the Education Foundation of Odessa, we mourn the passing today of a true icon and legend who left a sterling legacy in the world of music and literacy, Ms. Dolly (1946-2026). We will all miss her radiant smile and positive energy.

Parton launched the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in 1995 to foster an early love of reading and learning in her Tennessee hometown. The Imagination Library has since become the highest quality, most recognizable and most effective book gifting resource in the world. Policymakers, early childhood organizations and families trust The Imagination Library to inspire a love of reading.

Thanks to a grant from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, we are bringing this free mail-order book program to more local children ages 0-5. It is completely complimentary for families with young children and registration is now open! Parents can enroll children today by visiting https://imaginationlibrary.com/usa/affiliate/TXECTOR
