No OCBA meeting tonight but one of us will be going to Buxton for the meeting Dare is having on the NC12 flooding up there. The next OCBA meeting will be Sept. 15, but before that will be the NCDOT meeting on ferry tolls at 6 p.m. Sept. 9 in Ocracoke School.

The Ocracoke Community Pool Association's "Taste of Ocracoke" fundraiser tonight (July 27) from 6 to 8:30 will be moved to the Community Center.

Ocracoke Islanders:
Please contact your elected officials in the North Carolina General Assembly to urge them to delay the implementation of ferry tolls! The budget passed earlier this month requires tolls to be implemented by January 1, 2027! The Ferry Division indicates this is simply not feasible.
Please contact Members of the NCGA by phone or email (www.ncleg.gov
for contact info). Please request the implementation date be extended until January 1, 2028, or later to give the NC Board of Transportation time to consider and set tolls and for the Ferry Division to develop a toll collection system.
