Orlando Health Central Park on Dillard in Winter Garden.

Tuesday, June 16th
2 pm.

There is a Sundae Bar social and we will be helping transport the residents to and from their rooms, along with whatever else is needed.

It's Back to School Drive time!

I know. I know....School just ended, right?

Hosting a Back to School Drive takes a lot of time and effort.

Our goal this year is to help at least 300 kids/teens with school supplies.

What do we need?

I made an Amazon Wishlist so you can see what is needed. I know things are sometimes cheaper elsewhere, and that is ok! This gives you an idea of what is needed. I will be adding more things throughout the day as I think of things.

There is an option this year to sponsor a kid/teen. You would tell me the grade and I can give you their list, or you can donate monetarily and I will shop for that kid for you. :)

To sponsor a kid/teen, it will range between $45-$70ish. The back pack is usually the most expensive item.

We are supporting two young mothers, aged 17 and 19, who are expecting their first babies. Recently, several of you have generously donated baby items, which arrived at the perfect time.
We are committed to providing long-term support to these young families.
We are committed to offer guidance and assistance with parenting, should they want/need it.
We are also here to provide a safe and nurturing environment, where they can express their feelings and concerns without fear of judgment. 
Our goal is to provide a stable and loving support system, reminding them that their lives are not defined by their current circumstances.
In fact, this experience may ultimately prove to be a transformative blessing.
I firmly believe that this situation will be used for good in the lives of both mothers and fathers.

Over the next few months, I will be posting updates on the specific needs of these two families.
Would you pray for both of these moms and dads during this time?

On Tuesday I took Ruth and Samuel to volunteer at Orlando Health Central Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
There were two ladies that joined, Daisy Mitchell and Dawn Merlin. We had goody bags for all of the residents with items many of you purchased. THANK YOU!
We helped several play Bingo that were unable to play for themselves.
Ruth and Samuel went around with one of the workers, Camile and handed out goody bags to those that didn't want to play bingo. They loved it.
After Bingo was over, we all helped transport the residents back to their room.

10/10 experience. We will be doing this on a monthly basis and my family is so excited.

I will keep you all posted on when we will be there in June and the months to come.

Last night I was given the opportunity to speak for 10-15 minute about A Heart to Give Inc. in front of a room full of business men from Winter Garden 100. Three non profits spoke about their non profit and then they break to vote. First place would get majority of the $, Second and third would get split the rest.
A Heart to Give Inc. was chosen as the winner last night. The other non profits were just as amazing and I was honored to join the stage with them.
Thankful for this great opportunity.

We were also asked to share what the money would go toward if we won. I shared we would help women furnish their places after leaving horrible situations.

I am proud to share, earlier today we helped provide over $1k worth of items for a mama and her daughter.

There is a mama and 15 year old daughter needing help furnishing their place. They left a really rough situation and have a house of their own now. They have NO furniture at all.

They need everything.

Here is the kicker...They live in Casselberry.

So we may need help transporting things(if possible).

Looking for people that want to play bingo and connect with the residents at @ Orlando Health Central Park (Dillard Street in Winter Garden) May 12 @ 1:30.
We will be handing out goody bags to all the residents but extra goodies will be given to all of the ladies there for Mothers Day (I know it is 2 days after Mothers Day).
I can't do this alone. Please let me know if you want to help 🙂
Bingo starts at 2 pm, but the activities director said they may need help transporting the patients that want to play bingo to the activity center. So we will be meeting at 1:30.

May 12th we will be going to Health Central Park @2 pm to bring goodies to the residents. You guys have been so amazing at sending grilled socks for the residents. I am almost positive we have enough, but will confirm in a bit.

I have made an Amazon Wishlist with some other items, Ed(one in charge of activities there) mentioned the residents love.

We will be playing Bingo with some of the residents and chatting with them.

My goal is to build relationships with these men and women and go regularly.

I will need help assembling the gifts (probably week of event) and would love to take a team on the 12th.

I will need to ask Ed about bringing kids this first time around. I will keep you posted.
