The Marion County Search and Rescue Teams has several administration openings. These positions are volunteer positions.

GRANT WRITER
The team is searching for a person that would be interested in searching and writing grants to find equipment purchases, training and operating expenses. This position does not require field work.

ADMINISTRATION
The team is searching for someone to handle and maintain a database of members and training. This position does not require field work.

CalTopo
The team is looking for someone proficient in CalTopo. This position would help set up field maps and tracking of field operations in CalTopo
This position does require field work

‼️ Missing Person: Christopher Smith

The Lake County Sheriff's Office is seeking assistance in locating 14-year-old Christopher Smith (LCSO Case #260092305). Christopher was last seen on August 29th, 2026, by family members.

Christopher is a 14-year-old white male standing 5'6', hazel eyes, short dirty blonde hair, and was last seen wearing a black Adidas shirt and black jogging pants.

MISSING - RUNAWAY JUVENILE - JAYDEN SCHAEFER

On 08/23/2026, Jayden Schaefer was reported as a missing runaway juvenile to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office. Jayden is a 16-year-old white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 160 lbs. with blonde hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a brown hoodie and gray sweatpants. Jayden was last seen 08/23/2026 at 10:00 PM, in Beverly Hills, FL.
