Troop 600 (www.scoutdude.com) had the honor of serving at the Triad Honor Flight welcome-home, helping to recognize an incredible group of veterans returning from their day in Washington, DC. This is a traditional service event for many years.

Each Memorial Day at 3:00 p.m. local time, Troop 600 (www.scoutdude.com) participates in Taps Across America and the National Moment of Remembrance. Established by Congress in 2000, the moment of remembrance is a time for all Americans to pause for one minute in silent tribute to the fallen. Troop 600 layers the 24-note melody of "Taps" at the end of this collective silence, transforming a quiet nationwide pause into a powerful, shared monument of sound.

Troop 600 families, past and present, are invited to join us tomorrow night as we celebrate 20 years of Scouting.

We’ll gather at Oak Ridge Presbyterian at 6:30 PM for an evening of reflection, connection, and looking ahead together. Members of our founding cohort will be with us as we celebrate the journey that has shaped our troop over two decades.

One of the highlights of the evening will be honoring the traditions that earned Troop 600 the name “The Troop of Servant Leaders.” From community service projects to acts of quiet support behind the scenes, these moments have defined who we are.

Scouts Read Sacred Texts was held May 7 alongside the National Day of Prayer, uniting thousands of youth and families around the world in a shared commitment to faith, reflection, and Duty to God.

The annual observance encourages Scouts and youth to explore sacred texts in ways that support the spiritual values of Scouting while honoring each individual’s faith tradition and family beliefs.

Thanks to the Troop 600 (www.scoutdude.com) Scouts who participated in the Adopt A Highway service event this week. Since 2018, the troop has kept a 2-mile stretch that runs through Oak Ridge clean.
