🥰 Affectionate
Winnie is a belly-rub enthusiast who melts into your hands once she feels safe. Her affection is hard-earned and deeply genuine — and that makes it all the more special.
💪 Resilient & Brave
Despite everything she's been through, Winnie still has the capacity to trust. Her courage is quiet but unmistakable — she gets braver every single day.
⚡ Moderate Energy
Winnie has a comfortable, moderate energy level — happy to go for walks and explore, but equally content to settle in beside you for some quality couch time.
🐕 Dog Compatible
Winnie can do well with other dogs, but they need to earn her trust first. Give her a day to observe from a distance, and by the next day she'll extend an invitation to play.
🏠 House Trained
Despite spending most of her life outdoors, Winnie hasn't had a single accident in her foster home. She's a natural at indoor living and is crate trained, too.
🌱 Blossoming Every Day
Winnie is still discovering who she is — learning her name, just starting to play with toys, and getting better at sit and recall. Every day brings a new breakthrough.
Why Is She Looking for a Home?
Winnie came into foster care through Street Savvy Dog Rescue after being rescued as a stray just hours after giving birth to a healthy litter of puppies. For the first two years of her life, she and her siblings survived in the ruins of a burned-out trailer — and endured unimaginable cruelty from people who saw them as targets rather than living beings. Winnie was the lucky one.
Giving birth slowed her down just enough for a compassionate law enforcement officer to bring her and her pups to safety. At just over ten weeks, her puppies were transported to Oregon and placed with foster families. Now it's Winnie's turn to find her own happily-ever-after.
Ideal home: A patient, understanding family or individual who can give Winnie the time and grace she needs to continue building trust. She'd thrive as the only pup getting all the love, or alongside the right calm, patient dog. Potential adopters should be prepared for 2–3 meet-and-greet visits to let Winnie get comfortable — and every visit, you'll see her open up a little more.

Training Notes
Winnie walks beautifully on a leash and has solid recall — though her foster dad suspects it's partly fueled by not wanting to be left behind, which is honestly pretty endearing. She's working on sit and just starting to respond to her name. Winnie is also beginning to explore toys for the first time, so her play style is still a wonderful mystery unfolding. Continuing gentle, positive reinforcement training in her forever home will help this amazing girl blossom into her full potential.
