๐Ÿ๐ŸŒธ Pollinators were buzzing at Juneberry! ๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿฆ‹

We had so much fun participating in the Great Southeast Pollinator Census! From counting bees and butterflies to getting up close with the incredible pollinators that help our farms and gardens thrive, it was an amazing experience full of learning, exploring, and a whole lot of buzzing activity. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”Ž

Every pollinator countsโ€”and so does every person who takes the time to learn about and protect them! ๐ŸŒฑThank you to all of the volunteers that helped count & contribute to ecology through Citizen Science events!๐Ÿ’š

Did you know that 1 out of every 3 bites of food we eat depends on pollinators like honeybees? ๐Ÿ๐ŸŒผ

Honeybees play a vital role in agriculture by pollinating fruits, vegetables, nuts, and many of the crops that feed both people and livestock. Without their hard work, our grocery storesโ€”and our farmsโ€”would look very different. Our farm not only benefitted from their pollination but from educating on how to harvest honey (Farm Camp harvested 30 pounds) and sparking an interest in our interns about how to care for bees.

By protecting honeybees and creating pollinator-friendly spaces, we're helping ensure healthy crops, thriving farms, and a sustainable food supply for future generations. Help us protect these species by joining the Great Southeast Pollinator Census: https://edu.juneberry.com/program/great-southeast-pollinator-census/

Next time you see a honeybee buzzing from flower to flower, rememberโ€”it's doing one of the most important jobs in agriculture! ๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŒป

Happy National Watermelon Day! ๐Ÿ‰

Did you know that we grow many different melons on our farm? ๐Ÿˆ Each flower on the melon plant needs pollinated in order to grow a fruit. You may be asking yourself how pollinators can do their job in the in-soil greenhouse and the answer is hand pollination! Our team and students get to hand pollinate many plants in the greenhouse.๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ

Enjoy a watermelon today for great nutrition and hydration. While you do thank the pollinators and the farmers that make it possible! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿฆ‹

Check out Melany and her achievements as an immersive intern! This is a great way for students to take a deep dive into 2 areas of regenerative agriculture that interest them the most!

Melany has been hard at work with the land management and plant production team! She has spent her time mowing, mulching, getting the land ready for the JAMS festivals, working in the aquaponics & in-soil greenhouses, and so much more! She has demonstrated an extremely hard work ethic, a positive personality, and dedicated stewardship. Way to go! ๐ŸŒณSince it is her last week, she will be finalizing her project: planting a sunflower cover crop and planning future season cover crops on the farm. Thank you for the growth of Juneberry!๐ŸŒฑ

The summer has flown by and hard to imagine that it is the last week of the internship! We are so proud of all of the interns and cannot wait to see what they do with what they have learned!๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿ„ Moo-ve over! It's Cow Appreciation Day! Did you know cows have best friends and can recognize over 100 other cows? Theyโ€™re intelligent, social animals that play an important role in agriculture by providing milk, beef, leather, and helping support farms across the country. Today, we celebrate these amazing animals and all they do! ๐ŸŒพโค๏ธ

๐ŸฎBook a tour to meet our cattle and explore how these gentle giants can regenerate our ecosystems!
