On Dec 7th, over 100 scouts and families walked in the Granada Hills Parade, celebrating the 100th anniversary of its founding with our “Scouting through the 20s” theme. Each of the 6 dens can be seen representing an iconic element of the 20s. Lions putting the ROAR in Roaring 20s, Tigers with their First Aid wagon. Wolves flying high with their Propeller Airplane, and Bears pulling a Model T car! Our older Webelos and Arrow of Light scouts transformed their wagons into a Jazz Band . Fun Fact: Johnson & Johnson started producing machine-made, pre-cut Band Aids in 1924, but it wasn’t until Boy Scout Troops incorporated them into their First Aid kits that they grew in popularity A century later, thanks to Scouts, the Band-Aid is now a staple in every household all around the world. Pack 911, aptly named for the universal number for “HELP”, celebrates 100 years of first aid and preparedness, emphasizing the Scout Oath promise to “Help Other People at All Times”.
