On June 3rd and 4th our Project Manager Lucas attended the 2026 PA Statewide Active Transportation Summit in Harrisburg alongside dozens of supporters of Active Transportation from across the Commonwealth.

The Summit included an Active Transportation Infrastructure Walking Tour, breakout session presentations, and a keynote speech by Barkha Patel, former Director of Infrastructure for Jersey City, where in 2022 there were 0 traffic deaths on Jersey City roads despite a population of nearly 300,000 people.

The Summit also featured the launch of the Coalition for Active Mobility in Pennsylvania (CAMP), a new organization to promote Active Transportation in the PA state government.

Our new project Advancing Active Transportation in Montgomery Township, PA will kickoff next month and we can’t wait to bring knowledge and lessons learned from this group to the project.

Prioritize the Circuit Trails: Comment on the Draft Transportation Improvement Program for Pennsylvania

The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission is accepting public comments on Pennsylvania’s draft Transportation Improvement Program, which is the official list of transportation projects slated for funding over the next four fiscal years.

The draft list includes a record number of priority projects across all five Pennsylvania counties in the Circuit Trails network and the highest amount of funds programmed toward the Circuit and Circuit-adjacent projects that will connect to the network.

Every funded mile is a major step toward completing 550 miles of Circuit Trails by 2030.

The plan isn’t final yet, and public comments matter.

Send a comment to the DVRPC board by June 22 at 5 p.m. to show your support for keeping these trail investments in the final plan.

Community support sustains the momentum we’ve built and lets our region’s decision-makers know trails are essential infrastructure.

PSA!! Update on the Five Points intersection in Montgomery Township, PA ...

TRAFFIC ALERT: Five-Points Intersection Overnight Closures Begin June 28

PennDOT will begin milling and final paving at the Five-Points Intersection in Montgomery Township as part of the $14.6 million intersection improvement project.

Closures:
- June 28 – July 2 (11:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m.) - Intersection closed to through traffic
- June 29 - July 2 (9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.) - Periodic since lane closures on approaching roadways
- July 12 – July 16 (11:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m.) - Intersection closed to through traffic

Detour Routes:
- Southbound Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike) will be detoured west on Broad Street, then east on Main Street/Welsh Road (Route 63) back to Route 309.
- Northbound Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike) will be detoured north on the U.S. 202 Bypass, then north on County Line Road back to Route 309.
- Westbound Horsham Road (Route 463) will be detoured north on the U.S. 202 Bypass, then north on County Line Road to Business 202 (Doylestown Road).
- Eastbound Cowpath Road (Route 463) will be detoured west on Broad Street, then east on Main Street/Welsh Road (Route 63) back to Route 309.
- Southbound Business 202 (Doylestown Road) will be detoured east on County Line Road, then north on the U.S. 202 Bypass to Route 309.

Drivers should allow extra travel time and expect delays through the work zone and along detour routes. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The project will expand intersection approaches from 15 to 18 travel lanes and includes upgraded traffic signals, sidewalks, ADA curb ramps, drainage improvements, signage, pavement markings, and other safety enhancements.
