‼️ SCAM ALERT ‼️ Be alert for a text message scam that is sending requests for payment of outstanding toll charges.

If you receive a text message that appears to be from E-ZPass Virginia or a specific toll facility, do not click on the link. You may contact Customer Service to validate: http://tollroadsinvirginia.com

Those who believe they received a smishing text about tolls due can file a complaint with the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center at www.ic3.gov and include the phone number of the text message as well as the web link listed within the text.

Beware of Holiday Shopping Scams
As the holidays near, fake shopping sites are on the rise. These scammers often advertise expensive items like electric scooters or designer bags at unbelievably low prices, using stolen photos and logos from legitimate businesses. However, the products are either fake or never arrive.
To avoid scams:
• Be cautious of low prices. If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
• Research the seller. Look for reviews or complaints online before buying.
• Check the terms. Understand prices, refund policies, and who pays return shipping.
• Use credit cards. They offer better protection and dispute options. Avoid payments via gift cards, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency—these are often used by scammers.
If you’re scammed, contact the seller first. If unresolved, dispute the charge with your payment provider and report it to the Federal Trade Commission.

Quilters for Christ is a small group of committed ladies (and an occasional grandchild) making a big impact for the Kingdom.

Since 1998, Phyliss Sword has taught quilting to those, young and old, who wish to learn the art and skill of not only working with fabric but also an opportunity for fellowship and meaning. With a grant from the Holston Foundation, their ministry provides not only quilts for the homeless, the afflicted, and the lonely but also hope and love to those who are blessed by their talent and commitment to helping others. Dennison UMC, located in Rosedale, VA is truly a "little church with a big heart."
