MEET BABY!! 💕

Oh, this girl is pretty as can be, and she has just a little bit of sass to go along with all that beauty! 😻

Baby is a 4-year-old tabby who came to us through no fault of her own after her beloved guardian sadly had to move into a nursing home. Sometimes life takes an unexpected turn, and our sweet kitties find themselves starting over.

We're still getting to know Baby, but we think she may be open to sharing her new home with another friendly feline.
Baby is spayed, up to date on her care, and SO ready to leave shelter life behind. She deserves a home where she can be loved, spoiled, and appreciated for the beautiful, sassy girl she is! ❤️

💕HAPPY TAILS!! 💕

Doesn't this just make you so happy on a Monday?! We just received this wonderful update from Harriet, who didn't adopt one cat, or even two… she adopted THREE of our beautiful kitties!! Talk about opening your heart and home! ❤️

Remember Maddie, our beautiful black-and-white kitten? Branch, the adorable tabby who is now affectionately called Percy, and our sweet Sage? Well, these three are settling into their new home, and Harriet tells us everyone is starting to get along! YAY!! We absolutely LOVE hearing that!

Harriet writes:
Hello!
It’s now been a little over 2 months since their adoptions, and I’m happy to report that, as you can see, everyone ❤️’s Percy (formerly named Branch).

He & I are still slowly convincing Maddie & Sage to be friends (Sage says, “if she stops chasing me, MAYBE…”), but at this point we’re pretty optimistic it’ll happen eventually. 🤞🙂

Three lives changed, three happy beginnings, and a whole lot of love under one roof.
Harriet, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for choosing not one, but THREE Pet Refuge kitties! We are so grateful you gave them all a chance to grow up together and share a wonderful life. We can't wait for more updates!

HAPPY TAILS 🐾🐾❤️

WOW!! What a delightful Happy Tails!! 💕

Remember Apple? This beautiful girl spent 11 months with us, waiting for that special family who would see just how wonderful she is. And then along came Jericha and Zach! They met Apple and knew she was the one. ❤️

Well, Apple is now affectionately known as Stevie, and it looks like she's settling into her new life beautifully! She even has a new friend, Denny, and we couldn't be happier to see these updates!

Thank you so much for reaching out, Apple, now Stevie, is progressing great with us! She and Denny (resident cat) are starting to really get along, Denny was a bit hesitant and would hiss the first week and a half, and Stevie would just roll over and purr at him. She was ready to be friends with him right away and he is now accepting her. She is so good at understanding when he needs space, even though she is seemingly desperate to cuddle with him.

Stevie has been warming up to us as well, we can tell she is going to be an incredibly snuggly girl and she loves pets and curling up on pillows and cat trees. When she's not getting cozy making biscuits or asking for pets, she is having full speed marathon zoomies across the entire house, and chasing bouncy balls, kitty springs, and toys everywhere.

Stevie and Denny have been playing well together also, as they both love their kitty "fishing poles" and will lay on the carpet close but not too close, and taking turns batting the ribbons back and forth. They have shared many treats together, so we have felt quite successful acclimating them with each other.

Stevie still does need time to get used to all the noises of our house, and our schedules, but she is truly so sweet and we are so so happy to have her as a part of our family.

SUNDAY SHOUT OUT!! ❤️🐾🐾📢

We want to take a moment to send a HUGE thank you to all of our wonderful supporters, friends, and kind-hearted people who are always thinking of us here at Pet Refuge! 🐾

From newspapers (which are an absolutely HUGE help!), towels, cat food, litter, and other much-needed supplies, to even special little treats and gifts for our staff… we are constantly reminded of just how lucky we are to have such an amazing community behind us.

A special thank you to Rosemary, our new friend Rosario (who brought us pizza 🍕), and Christine, Kathy, and so many others who continue to think of us and our furry residents.

And of course, Olive Oyl couldn't resist getting in on the pizza action! We think she may have been checking to make sure the delivery was up to her standards! 😂🐱

We wish we could take pictures and acknowledge every single act of kindness, but sometimes we're just too busy caring for all our kitties. Please know that EVERY single donation, every thoughtful gesture, and every act of generosity means more to us than you could ever imagine.

It takes a village to care for all these cats and kittens, and we are so grateful that you are part of ours.

💙 SUNDAY FOSTER SPOTLIGHT! 💙

We absolutely LOVE sharing pictures and updates of our beautiful cats who are lucky enough to be spending time in loving foster homes. And today, we have a very special boy to share with you… BINX! 🐾

For Binx, moving into a foster home has truly been life-changing. Our sweet boy was diagnosed with intestinal cancer, and we knew that the shelter was the last place he needed to be while facing this difficult diagnosis. He deserved comfort, a cozy home, and most importantly, all the love in the world.

Then along came Jenny! ❤️ Jenny reached out, and it turned out to be the perfect opportunity for Binx to leave the shelter behind and enjoy the love and attention of a family. Now he gets to spend his days surrounded by unconditional love from Jenny and her grandmother.

Jenny writes:
Here he is with his favorite little toy, his tomato. He has gets the zoomies late at night and starts kicking and chasing that thing around the room like he’s a World Cup soccer star. It’s the cutest thing! 🥰

We honestly cannot thank Jenny and her family enough for opening their hearts and their home to our precious boy. Sometimes, a foster home gives a cat so much more than just a place to stay. It gives them a chance to feel safe, cherished, and loved, exactly when they need it most.

And just look at these pictures Jenny sent us! Doesn't Binx look AMAZING? Our hearts are so happy seeing him enjoying his new surroundings and soaking up all that love. These are the moments that remind us just how incredibly special fostering can be. 🥹💙

What a beautiful Sunday!! ☀️

Meet SYLVESTER!! This handsome tuxedo gentleman is looking for a place to call home! 🖤🤍

Sylvester is approximately 1–2 years old. He was found outside and thankfully, a wonderful human stepped up, rescued him, and brought him to Pet Refuge. We are so happy he is safe and now has a chance to find the loving home he deserves.

This sweet boy loves attention and enjoys being around people. We aren't quite sure how he feels about other cats just yet, but we're working on figuring that out!

Sylvester is neutered and up to date on vaccines. He’s an absolute sweetheart ❤️

ADOPTED!! ADOPTED!! YIPPEE!! 💗🐾

Well, this just tickled us PINK today!! There is something extra special about a bonded pair finding their forever home TOGETHER, and today it was Lion & Leopard’s lucky day!! 🎉

Denise and Robert simply couldn't resist these two gorgeous boys, and we couldn't be happier!!

These boys are off to start their next chapter together, and we know their new home will be filled with endless love, attention, cozy beds, sunny window seats, and all the happiness their little hearts could ever want.

Keeping bonded pairs together is always so incredibly rewarding. They have each other, and now they have their people, too. What more could we ask for? ❤️

Denise and Robert, we cannot thank you enough for opening your hearts and home to Lion & Leopard. We wish all of you a lifetime of love, happiness, and wonderful memories together!!

ADOPTED 🎉🐾🐾🎉

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Ash has officially been ADOPTED! 🎉 Ash is another one of Happy Girl’s (now Gracie) beautiful kittens. He is officially headed to his perfect forever home, and we could not be happier for this sweet boy.

This adoption is extra special because Ash is joining a truly wonderful family. His new mom, Sarah, adopted our beautiful nine-year-old Stormy just a month ago! Now, Ash gets to spend the rest of his days playing, cuddling, and growing up alongside his new big sister Stormy, Sarah, and Sarah’s sister, Lily.
It is the absolute perfect match for everyone involved. 💖

Thank you so much to Sarah and Lily for opening their hearts and home to another one of our rescues. Please join us in wishing Ash, Stormy, and their family the happiest, most love-filled life together! 🥂🐶🐱
