The Club 420 Association was established in 1980 to promote, foster, encourage and sponsor one-design sailing for youth sailors through the class. The Association annually sponsors a North American Championship, US and Canadian National Championships and a team racing Championship as well as regional championships for the class across North America while promoting the class to all ability and expe

rience levels of youth sailing. Since 2006, the class membership has more than doubled from 300 to it’s current membership of over 700. There are thousands of other C420 sailors in the many local clubs around North America who also take advantage of the Association, with all levels of sailors competing in some of the finest and socially fun events you will attend.

It was a wet and wild weekend at the C420 Pacific Coast Championship, held at San Fransisco Yacht Club August 29-30 🤙🏻🌊

78 teams hit the starting line and were treated to classic San Francisco bay conditions – so it was pretty full on ⚡️

Congratulations to San Diego Yacht Club Junior Sailing sailors Sean Kaseburg and Kylie Peterson who came away with the win 🏆 and thank you to The San Francisco Yacht Club, all the volunteers, parents and race committee who make it possible!

Another year, another champion crowned at the CJ Buckley Team Race Regatta 👑

A record 48 teams descended on East Greenwich, RI for two days of the best youth team racing around. With an impressive 11-2 win record for the final stage of the event, team West Coast Best Coast came out on top to take home the C420 National Jr. Team Racing Championship 💥

That’s a wrap on the 2026 National Championship!

After an incredibly consistent week – posting just one finish outside the top three, a fourth – Gage Christopher and Madison Mansour sailed away with the national title.

Lighter-than-usual Long Beach conditions tested the fleet over three days, rewarding teams who could stay fast through the light, choppy breeze. Race committee completed all three scheduled races each day, giving the 73-team fleet a full championship series.
