TANK - Transformative Action for North Kingstown

TANK - Transformative Action for North Kingstown We believe that our town is better than that. We are an educational and advocacy organization. Repeat offenders will be blocked.

Our mission is to move North Kingstown forward as a community that acknowledges its history, celebrates its potential, and fosters a climate honoring and encouraging diversity, equity and the unique character of all its residents through anti-racist policy reform, education and advocacy. There has been ample evidence, throughout our nation and even within our town, that people are too often judged

and found to be wanting because of the color of their skin, because they practice a different faith, because of who they love, because of how they identify, because they are differently abled, and because of any other number of reasons that allow the uneducated voice or the malignant voice to single them out as lesser. We work to make North Kingstown a community that values every resident, and treats all with decency, honor and kindness. If you don’t like what we advocate, you are free not to visit our page, but we do not maintain this page as a space for hatred or animosity. We will not tolerate hate speech, racial or religious slurs, personal attacks on any individual or group designated by ethnicity, race, gender, or sexual orientation. We have a zero tolerance policy for concrete or implied threats of violence. We encourage posts by people that relate to the purpose of this page and we welcome constructive feedback.

Movement Music: A Discussion on Black American Music and Dance for Liberation and Transcendence
18 Valley Street, Jamestown, RI

Honoring the spirit of Juneteenth, this conversation invites audiences to consider how Black American music and dance continue to carry the memory of struggle while opening pathways toward liberation, healing, and transcendence. The discussion highlights the ways the jazz tradition creates spaces for connection, freedom, and reimagining the future—affirming joy not as escape, but as an act of endurance and resistance.

A final thank you to the sponsors for the 4th Annual North Kingstown Pride Parade. Events like this don't happen without financial support and we appreciate the organizations and individuals who made it possible.

Absolutely amazing addition to this year's event by Tom Walsh of OGM Photography.

Pop-up photo booth with pictures of the day's attendees holding signs representing what pride means to them turned into a mural on the spot. Look for the finished product to be displayed at a location to be determined coming soon.

In the meantime, here is a link to the individual photos. Please credit OGM Photography when sharing.
