The JM Band Boosters are hosting a Football Pool fundraiser for the Steelers vs. Browns game on October 1st. Squares are $10 each. Payouts are $100 for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarters. The payout for the Final Score is $200. This fundraiser will directly support individual students for their upcoming band trip to Universal Studios Orlando in March.

To participate, first select your squares on SqMGR, then submit your payment through Zeffy. Please write down your numbers so you can add them to your Zeffy payment. As always, you can change your additional fee on Zeffy to $0.

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Dolly Parton today. Everyone knows of her musical talents and philanthropy. However, less people know that she was a percussionist and majorette in her Sevier County High School Band in Sevierville, Tennessee. Fewer know that she quietly funded numerous band programs over the years purchasing uniforms and instruments for not only her alma mater, but underfunded programs in lower socioeconomic schools. This was done anonymously for many years until it was discovered and reported on in 2022. While certainly an amazing musician, she is beloved because she was an even better person.
