Earlier this week, our very own Program Director Jeff Holmes and Founder Lydia Floyd were honored as LA Clippers Community Heroes! 🏀💙

We’re so proud to have been there to celebrate this special moment with them and to see the work happening at Hands4Hope LA recognized on a larger scale. Their dedication to our youth and community makes a lasting impact, and it’s wonderful to see that work celebrated.

Congratulations, Jeff and Lydia! Thank you for all you do for our Hands4Hope LA family and the community we serve!

🔬 STEMsters in action! This week, our students explored acceleration and velocity by testing how fast different objects roll down ramps they built themselves! 🚀

They compared hollow and solid objects, made predictions, and put their engineering and scientific thinking to the test. Learning science is even more fun when you get to experiment, build, and discover firsthand! 🧪👏

🎨 Acrylic painting with Veronica! Our students are getting creative, exploring color, technique, and self-expression while having fun with acrylic paints.
We love giving our students a space to try something new, get creative, and let their imaginations take the lead! 🖌️✨

We were so lucky to award scholarships to the winners of a writing contest at Vaughn International Studies Academy! ✍️🎓

Thanks to the Department of Youth Development, we’re able to provide these scholarships to support students as they continue their educational journey. We’re so proud of their hard work, creativity, and dedication! 💙

🎭 Lights, camera, FUN! Our students are having a blast in Theater Arts at Lankershim Arts Center!

Theater is more than just acting. It’s a chance to get creative, build confidence, express yourself, work as a team, and most importantly, have fun! We love seeing our students step outside their comfort zones and let their personalities shine. ✨

STEMsters started off with a little science and a lot of fun this week! 🧪Our local high school students came in to teach our students how to make their own colorful slime.

A hands-on activity that brought creativity, science, and plenty of smiles together! ✨
