We have a UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY tomorrow, Saturday 6/6 at our Chesapeake Isle Community Harbor. Our friend and neighbor Bill Osborne has arranged for a member of the USCG Auxiliary Flotilla 21-05 to conduct free Vessel Safety Checks (VSC) and make suggestions on what is needed to bring your boat in compliance with Maryland and Federal requirements. The status and condition of your trailer will not be addressed.

If your boat passes, you will be awarded a recognizable VSC Decal to display on your vessel. In Cecil County and the broader Chesapeake Bay area, maritime law enforcement (such as the Maryland Natural Resources Police or the US Coast Guard) may bypass or significantly speed up random safety boardings if they spot a valid current-year decal on your boat.

We will start at 11am and boats on trailers should head toward the fishing pier and get in line. Please take advantage of this opportunity for the US Coast Guard Auxiliary to come to you!

Dinghy and Kayak racks are open for business today thanks to our hardworking Harbor volunteers and clean-up crew!

2026 Rack assignments are posted on the Harbor bulletin board (…and you can also zoom in on the pic).

A few notes…
#1 - If you have questions or concerns, email Joe at [email protected].
#2 - There are (3) pending rack assignments. Joe will be at the Harbor tomorrow, Sunday 4/26 at 4p to resolve and answer any questions.
#3 - If you do not see your name and you have submitted paperwork and paid for a spot, refer to #1 or stop by the Harbor tomorrow at 4p.
#4 - The top of B-Rack is CLOSED at this time. No one has been assigned to the top of B-Rack.
#5 - Due to size constraints, A-Rack is restricted to Dinghy’s only.
#6 - If anyone needs an orange USCG sticker to ID your small craft, refer to #1.
#7 - DO NOT for any reason put your small craft in a spot that has not been assigned to you. This causes confusion and delay for all involved. If there’s an issue or someone is camping in your spot, refer to #1. We do have an impound lot if needed. 🤣

Thanks again to everyone who helped and hope everyone has a great boating season!

Clean-up time begins in 45 minutes! Please consider lending a hand.

The forecast looks a bit icky as the day progresses, but that just means we get to beat the weather and make it count. Let’s get this done!

Just a reminder that the Dinghy and Kayak racks are NOT open for business yet. While B-Rack is back in place (thanks to our hardworking volunteer crew), we need to finish a few punchlist items before it can be used. Rack assignments are just about complete, but there are few spots that need to be shuffled.

NOTE: If there’s an urgent need to get your dinghy or kayak to the harbor (e.g. mooring users), reach out to Joe and we’ll get you into your previous spot or get you set up with a temporary assignment.

Thanks for your patience, hopefully we’ll be ready for business this weekend! We’ll keep everyone posted!
