The North Andover Garden Club was recently honored at the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts (GCFM) Annual Meeting. We were recognized for our club's contributions to the Patriots Memorial Park and our website was chosen for the state "Barbara May Website Award" award and placed in the top five websites in the country by the National Garden Club (NGC). Many thanks to all our members for all their hard work.

June is National Pollinator month. Let's give a shout out to all the bees, butterflies, moths, insects and birds that pollinate our plants. A few things to keep in mind as you work and plant in your garden. Try to plant native plants in addition to your favorite flowering plants. Choose bright flowers, the colors and scent attract pollinators to your garden and plant for continuous bloom. Avoid pesticide use. Turn off unnecessary outside lights at night (artificial light can confuse their biological clocks and behavior the next day.) If you can, leave some bare ground, dead trees or limbs where many solitary bees like to build their homes.

THANK YOU!! It was another successful Plant Sale! We’re very appreciative of all the support for our biggest and only fundraiser. Proceeds go towards many civic beautification projects in town, upkeep of the Parson Barnard garden beds, Garden Therapy programs at our local senior facilities, high school scholarships, horticultural lectures and more. For over 100 hundred years the NAGC has been an active part of the community. Thank you for your support!

Come down to our plant sale today, May 31st, from 10-2 at the North Andover Middle School, rain or shine. Shop early for best selections! Cash, checks and credit accepted. We will have a large assortment of hardy perennials, including a selection of native plants, all grown in nursery sized pots and reasonably priced. In addition to plants, you can stop at the “Ask a Master Gardener” Table to find answers to all your plant and garden questions, and at our Recycle Table, you can find containers, tools, vases, gardening books and other gardening items that need a new home (a small donation is appreciated.) We will also be accepting back our black plastic pots from previous sales for the club to reuse. Youth Center and NAGC volunteers will be on hand to assist with purchases. It's our biggest fundraiser with proceeds going to local civic beautification projects, Garden Therapy programs at local senior facilities, high school scholarships, and holiday wreaths around town.
