🦁 What’s a Norfolk Lions Dinner Meeting Like?

It’s members and guests coming together each month to find ways to make a difference in our community! ❤️ We meet the 4th Tuesday of every month from 6:30–8:30 PM.

Tonight, we were honored to welcome District Governor Kristine Shanahan, who presented Chevron Awards recognizing years of service to our Norfolk Lions! 🎉

🏆 Congratulations to our honorees!

The Norfolk Lions were set up and ready to go this morning for Stairs4RTroops! 🫡🇺🇸 Lynn Worley & Dave Turi manned our Lions Tent. Chris Montville, Patty McCarty, Mark Conley & Eric Diamond climbed over 5000 steps along with their 20 man team for local disabled Veterans. Thank you for everyone’s support! We raised $4130! The Norfolk Lions invested in a brand new Lensometer! Fellow Lion Brian Hamlin of Hamlin Cabinetry in Norfolk built a beautiful storage box to keep it clean & safe. Wrentham Lion’s Lisa Munn & Norfolk Lion Tara Spellman organized training at the Fiske Public Library in Wrentham, with local Lions groups from surrounding towns! A lensometer (also known as a focimeter or vertometer) is an ophthalmic instrument used to measure the prescription of eyeglass lenses. We take eye glasses donated to the Lions, clean them, measure them and include a printout of it’s prescription in a baggie and ship them to folks that need them, locally & all over the world! You can help too: Drop your readers, prescription glasses and sunglasses at our yellow Lions mailbox at the Transit station on your way out!

EXTRA TRAILER LAYING AROUND?
With the official end of summer 23 days away, and more importantly only 90 days before we take delivery of Maine 🌲trees and set up the lot, the Tree Committee is on the lookout for a replacement trailer. If you know someone who would be willing to donate (preferably) or sell a trailer to the Lions, please reach out to us or someone on the Tree Committee. As Norfolk Lions is a 501(c), this could be eligible for a tax deduction.

We are looking for something similar size to the existing model but without the roof leaks or rodents 😊– no side pushouts.

Please DM us - Norfolk Lions.

Thank you, on behalf of the Norfolk Lions Christmas Tree Committee
