What a difference one week makes!

Last week, our warehouse was FULL of furniture. Today, we’re looking at empty spaces where sofas, dressers, beds and dining tables once stood.

And while an empty warehouse might look concerning, it also tells a beautiful story.

That furniture didn’t just disappear. It went into the homes of individuals and families emerging from crisis. Beds became places for children to sleep. Dressers gave families a place to unpack their belongings. Dining tables became places to gather. Living rooms that were once empty began to feel like home.

But here’s the reality: the need isn’t slowing down, and our furniture supply is running extremely low!

We need our community’s help to fill our warehouse back up so we can continue serving families right here in Greater Atlanta.

Our most requested furniture items include:
🛏️ Beds and mattresses
🪑 Dressers and chests of drawers
🛋️ Sofas and loveseats
🍽️ Dining tables and chairs, especially sets seating 4–6
🏠 Side tables and coffee tables
🏠 Other gently used household furniture

The furniture may change every week, but some of the faces around our warehouse stay the same. And we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Week after week, these faithful volunteers walk through our doors ready to serve. Some have been with us for years, and their dedication to this ministry is something we never want to take for granted.

From sorting bedding, dishes and lamps to sanding, repairing and restoring furniture. From assessing donations and matching pieces to the needs of each family to loading trucks and delivering furniture into homes. Every person has a role, and every role matters.

But what we love most is the heart behind it all.

These volunteers aren’t just giving a few hours of their week. They’re building friendships, sharing their gifts, praying over families they may never meet and faithfully serving their neighbors right here in our community.

And because they keep showing up, families emerging from crisis are receiving more than furniture. They’re receiving dignity, hope and stability as they begin again.

To our incredible volunteers: thank you for making Fully Furnished Ministries such a special place. We love the community that has grown within these walls and are so grateful for the way God continues to use each of you.

At Fully Furnished Ministries, our hope is that when we deliver a bed, we can also provide fresh sheets and bedding to go along with it. When donations allow, we love being able to match bedding to the needs of each family, especially when we know there are children who will be sleeping in those beds. It’s one more way we can help make a new space feel like home.

Recently, a retired couple saw an opportunity to help! They took advantage of Target's Back to School and Back to College sales to stock up on bedding for the individuals and families we serve.

We love this example of how simple it can be to make a meaningful impact right here in our own community!

You don’t have to organize a large event or give up an entire weekend to serve. Gather your Bible study, church group, neighborhood friends, coworkers or company team and collect bedding and other household essentials for families emerging from crisis.

Every set of sheets, pillow and blanket donated helps us get one step closer to providing a comfortable place to rest for every person we serve.

Thank you to this wonderful couple for seeing a need and finding a way to meet it. Your generosity is helping bring dignity, hope and stability to families you may never meet. ❤️

Perimeter School Serve Day! 🛠️

There is something so special about filling our building with students and their parents who are eager to learn about our ministry and serve families right here in their own community.

Today, these students put their hands to work building dressers, preparing Welcome Home Baskets and learning how each piece plays a part in bringing dignity, hope and stability to a family beginning again. But what we love most is watching the next generation learn that serving others doesn’t have to happen far away. There are neighbors right here in our own community who we have the opportunity to love and serve.

Perimeter Church and Perimeter School have been faithful partners of Fully Furnished Ministries for many years, and we are incredibly grateful. Month after month, we have the privilege of welcoming their students, families, volunteers and groups through our doors, each one willing to give their time and use their hands to serve others.

Thank you for continuing to show up, serve alongside us and teach the next generation what it looks like to love their neighbors well. We are so grateful to have you as part of the Fully Furnished family ❤️

Have you ever wanted to serve with us? Saturday mornings are a great place to start! 🙌

We start bright and early at 7:30 AM and you’ll be done before lunch, but a lot happens in those few hours!

You’ll start at the warehouse with an overview of Fully Furnished Ministries and a walk-through of what we do. Then we’ll load the trucks and head out on routes to deliver furniture to families beginning again and pick up donated furniture that will soon find its next home.

It’s one of the best ways to experience the full circle of our ministry and see firsthand how furniture can bring dignity, hope and stability to a family.

Saturday Serve Days are perfect for churches, discipleship groups, families, organizations, neighborhood groups, book clubs, friends and anyone looking for a tangible way to serve right here in our community.

FAQ: What happens to your furniture after it arrives at the Fully Furnished warehouse?

Once a donated piece arrives at our warehouse, our team gets to work preparing it for the family who will receive it.

🧹 It’s cleaned and inspected
🛠️ It’s repaired or restored when needed
🏷️ It’s organized and prepared for an upcoming delivery
🙏 It’s prayed over by our team
🚚 Then it’s loaded onto one of our trucks and delivered directly into the home of a family beginning again

That dresser collecting dust in your guest room could soon hold a child’s clothes. That dining table could become the place where a family shares dinner together. That bed could mean someone sleeps off the floor tonight.

We prepare each piece with care so it can help bring dignity, hope and stability to a family emerging from crisis.

It’s National Good Neighbor Day! ❤️

At Fully Furnished Ministries, we get to see what being a good neighbor looks like every single week.

Giving. Serving. Donating. Restoring dignity.

It looks like donating furniture you no longer need. Spending a few hours serving alongside your neighbors. Restoring a dresser for its next home. Carrying a bed into a child’s room. Praying over a family as they begin again.

Jesus said, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Mark 12:31

And we get to watch that love in action every week as neighbors serve alongside neighbors, for neighbors. Churches, families, small groups, students and friends come together to meet practical needs and bring dignity, hope and stability to families emerging from crisis right here in our own community.

You don’t have to go far to make an impact. Loving your neighbor can start right where you are.

To every person who continues to invest your time, furniture and resources into the neighborhoods around us: thank you for being a good neighbor. ❤️

Did you know? ➡️ Many of the families we serve are moving into a home after experiencing crisis with little more than the belongings they can carry.

For some moms, that means sharing one bed with their children because there isn’t another. Children may be sleeping on the floor. Clothes and belongings stay packed in bags because there’s no dresser to put them in. A dining table or place to gather together may simply not exist.

On average, depending on our current inventory and the needs of each family, we provide around 15 pieces of furniture to help turn an empty space into a home.

Our mission is to help restore hope and dignity through the gift of household furnishings to families in need. Through every delivery, we also have the opportunity to come alongside these families, pray with them and share the love and hope of Christ.

It’s about dignity, hope and stability for a family beginning again.

It’s more than furniture. It’s ministry.

Saturday Serve Day Recap 🔄

What a beautiful Saturday of serving our community together! So many willing hands showed up ready to work, and together we were able to make an incredible impact.

Here is a glimpse into the impact we had this weekend:

🚚 17 families served through furniture deliveries and donation pickups

🙌 40+ volunteers serving from 4 Points Church, 2819 CHURCH and Young Men’s Service League NE

🛠️ YMSL volunteers continued their service projects of building dressers that will soon be placed in families’ homes

Behind every number is a real family beginning again. Every truck loaded, dresser built and piece of furniture delivered helps bring dignity, hope and stability while giving us the opportunity to share the love of Christ.

This is what Saturday Serve Days are all about: showing up, serving together and loving our neighbors right here in our own community.
