🍂 CLEANING OUT CLOSETS FOR FALL? 🍂

♻️ Before you toss or donate that outgrown Brookside (EAST) gear, please consider passing it along to our Brookside Spirit Wear Closet!

We gladly accept gently used Brookside shirts, sweatshirts, jackets and other merchandise in all youth and adult sizes. Items just need to feature the school name, BES/EAST, Mustangs/Jaguars or a logo.

📦Donations may be dropped off in the front office—just let them know they’re for the PTO’s Spirit Wear Closet— or students may also bring donations to school with a note attached.

Your outgrown spirit gear can help another Brookside family show their school spirit! ❤️💙 💚GO 🐎MUSTANGS🐎 (FUTURE 🐆JAGUARS🐆)!

Meet Rebecca Raszkowski our Project Coordinator!
"I’ve been married to my husband, Brock, for 11 years. We have 3 boys; Rhett is in 3rd grade, Micah is in 2nd grade, and Leo is in Kindergarten. I was a teacher in Jessamine county for 12 years, but now I am a stay at home mom.

I love gardening, making treats, and being outside. I’m looking forward to being part of the PTO and serving the staff and kids this school year."

💙 WHERE DOES YOUR PTO MONEY GO? 💙

💰Sometimes it goes toward the big, exciting events everyone sees—and sometimes it goes toward simple classroom needs that make a BIG difference!

One recent purchase was a new roll of yoga mat material to replace the students’ 🪑seating spots in the music room. The previous ones had been used and loved by Brookside students for many years!

Mrs. Angel intentionally doesn’t have traditional desks and chairs, giving students plenty of open space to move, create and fully enjoy making music. These cushioned spots give them a comfortable place to sit while keeping the room flexible and fun. 🎶

Every fundraiser, donation and PTO purchase helps us support the unique needs of our students and teachers—even down to the spots where our Mustangs sit! 🐴❤️

Meet Dean Edwards our Event Coordinator!
"I’ve called Jessamine County home since I was a kid, and now I get to raise my two daughters here! Madeline (6) will be starting 1st grade at BES this year, and her little sister, Isla (4), isn’t far behind.

I’m a paramedic for a nearby fire department, and when I’m not working, you can usually find me and my girls on an adventure. We love anything outdoors—zoos, creeks, parks, amusement parks, and just about anywhere that keeps us on the go!

I love all things creepy and crawly, especially spiders! I’m teaching my girls that even the smallest creatures matter, so we’re a “never squish the bug” family. I love looking across the playground to see my child holding a bug while the other kids look at her like she just tamed a beast.

I joined the PTO to help create fun, special memories for our students. I’m excited to be part of the events, lend a hand wherever I can, and help make a little magic happen for our kids!"

Meet Nikki Wilson our Member at Large!
"I moved to Nicholasville in 2011 after my husband, Justin, was medically retired from the Army. We have been married for 20 years and have two wonderful children, a 7th grader at EJMS and a 4th grader at Brookside.

As a full-time caregiver, I understand the importance of a strong, supportive school community. I’ve been serving on the BES PTO since my oldest was in 2nd grade and have loved building friendships with families while helping create memorable experiences for our students and supporting our amazing teachers and staff.

I’m excited to continue serving our BES families and helping make this another fantastic year for our Mustangs!"

Our original winner, Beth Burdine, let us know that she entered simply to support the PTO. 💙 Since she doesn’t use the car line, we drew another name…

🎉 Congratulations to Dale George, the grandpa of one of our BES students! Dale frequently picks up his grandson, so this Fast Pass will definitely come in handy! 🚗💨

Meet Emily Lee our Communications Chair!
"I graduated from EKU with a Bachelors in Fine Arts, however I pursued my passion for animal welfare and have been an Animal Care & Control Officer for over three years now in Lexington.

My husband Keagan and I married on Halloween of 2024, and we have two kids, Atticus who will be in 5th grade and Ophelia who is starting Kindergarten this year! My husband works at Toyota in Georgetown so our schedules can be a little crazy, but we always put 110% into our kids and their educations.

I am so excited to help out our school and staff as part of PTO, and look forward to all the fun stuff we will do together to make this a great year for all!"
