Jessamine Co Beef Cattle Association is having the first cookout of 2026 this Friday & Saturday (24 & 25) in front of Tractor Supply in Nicholasville. We will be cooking ribeyes, hamburgers & all beef hotdogs from 10:30 am till 7:00 pm each day.

With the reopening of the federal government and the return of the FSA office staff to the offices I wanted to give an update on the current situation of our office in Lexington. Our CED Corey Anderson accepted a position as CED of an office closer to home allowing him to move back home and be with his family. While those of us on the COC committee were sad to see him go, we all understand his desire to return home and wish him the best. With that being said, that has left the Lexington Service Center with no staff. After meeting with the State Director the COC determined the best plan of action for right now was to enter into temporary shared management with the Woodford Service Center and move the Lexington office to a limited hours office. That means that for right now the Lexington Service Center will only have somebody in office during regular business hours on Wednesday and Thursday each week. If you need assistance outside of those days please feel free to visit the Woodford County office located at Falling Springs Park in Versailles. Additionally the phones for the Lexington office will be answered five days a week during normal business hours as usual and you may also set up an appointment to meet someone at the Lexington Office outside of the Wednesday/Thursday schedule if needed. We had scheduled a cookout for June 20 & 21 but we have canceled it due to construction taking place in the parking lot where we normally set up.
