This week, we’re heading into the heart of Kelseyville to check out one of our newest favorite spots, Malia’s Island Soul! 🤙🏽🌴

Located right on Main Street in downtown Kelseyville, Malia’s Island Soul brings a taste of the islands to Lake County with Hawaiian-inspired comfort food, plate lunch favorites, island vibes, Hawaiian music, and that welcoming aloha spirit that makes you feel at home as soon as you walk through the door.

In this week’s episode, we sit down with the owners, learn more about their story, see what inspired Malia’s Island Soul, and of course, GET INTO THAT FOOD! 😋🔥

🌺 FUN FACT: You don’t have to fly across the Pacific to get a little island flavor. Malia’s is serving it up right here in downtown Kelseyville at 3919 Main Street. Their atmosphere is built around island-inspired décor and music, making the experience about more than just grabbing something to eat.

Hello Everybody. This is Dianne, CEO of Solano Women in Medicine (SWIM). SWIM is 7 years old today ya'll! We will celebrate this milestone with the community soon as well as other great things coming up for SWIM!

I will be posting more often on SWIM's page as we lead up to launching our YouTube channel (the SWIMTIDE Network) and the programming we know you will love.

As an introduction for what each letter in SWIM means, here we go. S-Solano is a hot easterly oppressive wind (so no, it was not named for the county). SWIM was born right here in Lake County! Solano in this case is a metaphor for the force of this wind to bring the community together. And also, Clear Lake flows in an easterly direction.

W-Women because women are the nurturers of the earth. That one is self-explanatory so no need to elaborate.

M-Medicine is anything that heals your body and brings you joy. Speaking of Joy, that is a clue for what's coming to Nice in a few months as well as I will end this post with a song that brings me joy..."Please Pardon Me" (You Remind Me of a Friend) by the great Chaka Khan & Rufus.

🌳 Hammond Park is such a beautiful new addition to our community of Nice!

If you haven’t been by since all the upgrades were finished, I definitely recommend stopping by and checking it out. Bring the kids, let them run around in the grass, enjoy the playground, or take a walk or bike ride on the paths.

They’ve added exercise areas, dog parks, a playground, walking and biking paths, and beautiful new softball and baseball fields. ⚾🥎🐕🚲🏃‍♂️

The whole park looks clean, welcoming, and really well put together. It’s great to see an investment like this in our community that gives families, kids, athletes, and everyone else a nice place to enjoy.
