A record-breaking year for Delta Waterfowl Chapters.

Thanks to the dedication of more than 6,300 volunteers across North America, Delta Waterfowl raised a record $16.1 million through chapter fundraising events during the 2025–2026 fiscal year.

This milestone reflects the incredible commitment of our chapter volunteers and supporters who continue to drive our mission to produce ducks and secure the future of waterfowl hunting.

Every shallow wetland, every stretch of nesting cover, every ounce of moisture on the landscape plays a role in producing the next generation of ducks.

When hens have the right conditions, they can nest successfully, raise healthy broods, and keep populations strong for seasons to come.

The 2026 North Dakota Breeding Duck Survey results are in.

North Dakota’s breeding duck population declined 9.5% from 2025, while the state’s water index showed slightly drier conditions across the prairie pothole region. Blue-winged teal numbers dropped, while mallards and pintails increased over last spring.

The survey highlights continued dry conditions across key duck-producing habitat and the importance of wetland conservation heading into brood-rearing season.

Black-bellied whistling ducks are booming in Louisiana, and hunters are getting a brand-new special season this October.

From marshes and grain elevators to city parks and wood duck boxes, these tree-dwelling “squealers” are expanding across the Gulf Coast and creating exciting new hunting opportunities for Louisiana waterfowlers.
