UPDATE: Rowdy has hopefully met his forever family (in foster to adopt).

Today, adoptable Rowdy celebrates a milestone we wish he didn’t have to reach… 100 days in our care. 💔

At just 1 year old, this sweet English Setter/Great Dane mix is officially our 3rd longest resident, and we know his perfect family is still out there waiting to find him.

This week, Rowdy is helping us show off the future journey for dogs entering our new shelter:
🛁 Intake and bath area where new arrivals will get cleaned up and settled in
🐾 Spacious indoor kennels designed with comfort in mind
🌿 Outdoor kennel spaces where visitors can see and connect with adoptable dogs (work starting next week!)
❤️ One of our three meet-and-greet rooms where families can spend quality time getting to know a potential new best friend
🏡 One of our two adoption rooms, a quiet and welcoming space to talk through important information and finalize adoptions

But today, our biggest hope is simple: that Rowdy doesn’t spend day 101 in the shelter. Please help us spread the word, share his story, and rally together to find this lovable boy the home he deserves🐶

✨Happening This Week 👚 T-Shirt Fundraiser For Our NEW Laundry Machine That’s Going to Keep The Future Shelter Clean✨
Stop by WHS during regular shelter hours to see alllllll of the amazing t-shirts we have available with 100% of proceeds going the new shelter appliances.
The commercial washer and dryer have arrived & the availability of these commercial appliances was a key consideration in our need for a new shelter. Nonetheless, the funds raised so far did not extend to covering these vital appliances. With a deadline of about 15 days, we are reaching out for help to raise $23,300, which would allow us to settle the payment without adding to our loan. Can you contribute to this effort?

🐾New Shelter Update 🏠

Hi friends, Theresa here! 👋🐾

I’ve been keeping a very close eye on the progress at our brand new shelter. While we’re still waiting on our outdoor structures to be built (check back in the next few weeks!), I can already see the grass growing all around our future outdoor kennel spaces AND let me tell you, it’s getting exciting!✨

Those big open areas behind me? They’ll soon become two large play yards where dogs like me can stretch our legs, play with dog friends, and spend time getting to know potential families. I can already picture the zoomies. 🐶💨

Every week, this place feels a little more real, and it’s all because of your patience, support, and belief in this project. Thank you for sticking with us through the construction dust, delays, and all the behind-the-scenes work it takes to build something so special 🥹

I can’t wait to welcome you all to a completed shelter filled with happy tails, second chances, and lots of love. Until then, my adoptable friends and I will keep supervising the progress for everyone 🩵
