Firefighters were dispatched around 4:30pm to a vacant, boarded-up home in the 2300 block of South Boulevard in South Dallas.

Crews made an initial interior attack on the vacant structure. The fire was quickly knocked down.

One Firefighter suffered non-life-threatening burns during the operation and was transported to a hospital in stable condition.

A Trooper attempted to pull over a driver for a speeding violation near the area of NC 41 and Durwood Evans Road. The driver failed to stop and then fled on foot after the pursuit ended. A physical struggle ensued when the Trooper caught up to him.

The Trooper was transported to a local hospital with injuries.

Around 6:45pm on Brentwood avenue an Officer who was on foot ordered the driver of a moped to stop after suspects were spotted removing items from a residential property. The moped swerved around a car and accelerated directly into the Officer.

Despite suffering multiple lacerations and significant bleeding, the Officer continued to help apprehend the suspects before being hospitalized.

Around 5:15pm outside the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Headquarters near Northwest 41st Street and 93rd Avenue a Deputy was sitting inside his police cruiser during a severe storm when lightning struck the vehicle.

After reporting that he was not feeling well, a trauma alert was dispatched, and fellow first responders rushed him via Florida's Turnpike to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital.

Around 9pm at the 600 block of Nieland Loop Southeast Deputies responded to a reported domestic disturbance and a potential deceased person inside the residence. Once on scene, a resident in crisis locked themselves inside the home. When they attempted to forcibly enter, the suspect fired shots through the door.

A Deputy suffered an horrific leg injury while retreating under fire and was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

We have provided this quilt to give comfort while he recovers.

At the Cobb County Adult Detention Center a Deputy was injured by an inmate awaiting extradition to Tennessee in connection with his father's death.

He was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where he was treated for a broken jaw and concussion.

This quilt was lovingly made by the East Cobb Quilters Guild and delivered by our local QFC volunteer to let him know we care.

In the early morning hours near Virginia Avenue and East Commerce Street an Officer was heading home after his shift when a speeding, intoxicated driver ran a stop sign and collided with his patrol vehicle.

He suffered severe injuries including broken bones (hip, arm, ribs, clavicle) and a spinal fracture, requiring extrication and multiple surgeries before transitioning to a rehabilitation center.

We have sent this quilt to provide comfort while he recovers.

A Motorcycle Officer was conducting school zone enforcement near NE 108th Street and Richmond Avenue, close to Kellybrook Elementary School. Just after before 8am the Officer tried to catch up to a car that was speeding through the school zone, but the motorcycle went down.

He sustained injuries that were not considered life-threatening and was transported to an area hospital for evaluation.

Our local QFC hand delivered the quilt that was received on behalf of the Officer.

Around 7:45pm in the 400 block of Spring Circle in the Lakewood Community (near the Beechgrove / Manchester area) Deputies went to the location to serve an arrest warrant for a probation violation.

They found the suspect inside a tent. He attacked the Sgt with a machete, cutting him in the chest and hand. Other Deputies rushed the Sgt to a local hospital for treatment of severe cuts, particularly to his left hand.

Around 10:30pm at N. 54th and Arlington streets Officers were responding to reports of a vehicle struck by gunfire. While they were investigating the initial scene, a suspect approached the area and engaged in a confrontation with them. He ignored commands to stand down, shoved a Sgt, and drew a handgun as he was being detained. He then opened fire shooting multiple times.

Three Officers were shot during the exchange. One was shot in the face, one in the hip, and one in the leg. All three were transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center for treatment.

They are all at home recovering now and we have provided these quilts to aid in that recovery process.
