🇺🇸 THE HUEY IS COMING HOME! 🇺🇸
On Friday, September 18th, a piece of American history will make its final journey home to New Lenox American Legion Post 1977 located at 14414 Ford Drive, New Lenox, IL

We’re inviting Veterans, Legion Family members, motorcycle riders, families, friends, and the entire community to be part of this special homecoming.

🏍️ Want to ride in the es**rt?
Riders can meet at Post 1977 at 6:30 AM for the ride to Re*****on, Indiana, or join the es**rt at I-65 Exit 201.

🇺🇸 Not riding? We need you too!
Come to New Lenox American Legion Post 1977 by 11:00 AM with your American flags and help us line the Post to give this Huey the welcome home it deserves. The Huey is expected to arrive around noon.

🥪 Sandwiches & chips will be available for a $10 donation, with proceeds benefiting the Flight Home Memorial.

This isn't just the return of an aircraft. For many Vietnam-era Veterans, the unmistakable sound and sight of a Huey represents a powerful chapter in their lives and in our nation's history.

🇺🇸 NATIONAL AIRBORNE DAY — AUGUST 16 🪂

Today, the Will County American Legion Council proudly honors the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who have earned the right to wear the Airborne wings.

National Airborne Day commemorates August 16, 1940, when the U.S. Army conducted its first official parachute jump at Fort Benning, Georgia—marking the beginning of America’s airborne forces.

From the battlefields of World War II, Korea and Vietnam to Grenada, Panama, the Persian Gulf, Afghanistan, Iraq and missions around the world, America’s paratroopers have answered the call with courage and determination.

🪂 Airborne! All the Way!

Today we salute all past and present members of our Airborne forces and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation.
