Chester-Newell Sportsmen Club Memberships for anyone interested in Hunting, Fishing, Shooting, Archery, and sporting dogs

133 acres, 100 yard shooting range, Lake, Trails for beagle training. Kids fishing tournaments, Boy Scout events, Turkey shoots, Hunter education, Women on Target and CCW classes. Archery hunting for deer and turkey, in season for members with proper license. We are a non-profit organization who helps promote youth in the outdoors and other community events.

Smokey’s trapping seminar this weekend at the New Manchester fire hall, sponsored by the Hancock Co farm bureau $5 at the door. The next catfish tournament info.
Also this weekend is WV free fishing days open to the public for residents and non-residents. Stop at the park campground pavilion Saturday morning for a good breakfast then go fishing!!
Don’t forget the Free Kids fishing tournament at the club, open to the public. June 20th from 10:00 am to 12:30pm. Ages 3-15
At the meeting! Two ladders were bought for the club. Also brought up was more black top gravel was needed for the road. A new podium was built by Dan and Reid Swartzmiller and Mike Brennan for meetings and classes.
Profits for the turkey shoots was announced.
Members who are sick or have loved ones passed was recognized.
A Women on Target class is scheduled for Aug 15th, watch this page for times.
A CCW class still needs a few more registrations. The new camo hats are in $17 is what the club payed for them, so get one at the meetings.
A letter of appreciation from the Oak Glen archery club was read at the meeting.
We are behind Green Valley Dairy on Gas valley rd. Georgetown, PA but we are in WV once you get through our gate. Next meeting is July 7th at 7:30pm.

What a year these past few months. I included some picks of Jr member Amelia’s first antlered 7pt buck, friends turkey picks, member and jr member Mackenzie with her nice buck, members and friends rabbit hunt and jr member Reid with a Coyote.
I have been very blessed this past 6 months with a Mountain Lion in Northwest Montana back in December, and now a large spring Black bear from ONTARIO canada. We were 3 for 4 on this trip with the largest going around 500 lbs. mine was 350-400.
Our first Catfish tournament was last Saturday. 13 fish was measured and the winner was a32 1/2” flathead caught by Tyler Wallcap of Toronto, OH. Lucky draw winner for 2nd was a 30” flathead caught by Albert Hirschbeck of Follansbee, WV. Water temp was 62 degrees. The next tournament will be June 20th.
The Kids free fishing tournament at our club is also on June 20th from 10am-12:30pm and open to the public. Prizes and food is provided for the kids, so bring them out.
The next meeting is Tuesday June 2nd at 7:30pm

Youth turkey season in WV started today, and tomorrow. Please be careful and make sure it has a beard!!

Oops ! The Free fishing days in WV is on June 13th and 14th, so the Kids fishing tournament at the club will be moved to a different date. Watch our page for an update. Don’t forget our last Turkey shoot is this weekend.
The number for the SS 357 Python yesterday was #504 and person was notified.
Don’t forget about our Hunter ed class next week !
