We often talk about the curriculum programs our prevention specialists lead in schools when it comes to prevention services, but positive alternative activities like Trunk or Treat play an important role, too!

By decorating a trunk and passing out treats at a Seguin Parks & Recreation event, our Guadalupe County prevention specialist, Norma R., and other community organizations are working together to promote a positive, drug- and alcohol-free environment.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and our staff is wearing pink today to show support for those affected by breast cancer.

One in eight women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and an estimated 2,670 men in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, according to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Thank you to Poor J Brown's Leon and Tim, Jan, and Griffin for bringing a gumbo night to our residential program! Many of the kids had never had gumbo, and we love being able to work together to bring new experiences into their lives. Learning a bit about how to prepare gumbo, the history of the dish and its role in your family, and the culture of New Orleans was a great bonus!
