Everyone in Massachusetts deserves clean water and access to nature. This year, Massachusetts has an important opportunity to protect our bays, rivers, lakes, forests, farms, and other natural areas.

Voting YES on Question 6 would dedicate funds from the existing state sales tax on sporting goods to raise as much as $100 million every year for protecting and conserving water and nature — without raising taxes. Help us protect the places we love — clean water, healthy forests, more trails and parks, and access to the outdoors and nature for everyone in Massachusetts.

Under construction!

Pictured here is work taking place at Century Bog last week. The new sinuous stream channel has been excavated. Crews are continuing to add large wood structures to the bends in the stream, grade the surface of the bogs to reveal underlying peat, fill ditches, and complete other restoration work.

We’re looking forward to this restoration bringing back native fish and wildlife while continuing to provide walking trails for the public to enjoy.

Century Bog is part of the Red Brook Wildlife Management Area, owned by Massachusetts Division of Fisheries & Wildlife.

Many project and funding partners are involved, including MA DFW, , MA In-Lieu Fee Program, Buzzards Bay Coalition, Mass Audubon, Ducks Unlimited, , National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) , and ’s America the Beautiful grant program.

How can we begin to describe the energy during our 20th Watershed Ride? These photos are a start.

On October 4th, 430 environmentalists showed up to bike the bay. Along the way, they rode past salt marshes, forests, coves, cheer squads, a bagpiper, stopped for a little karaoke, and ate hundreds of bananas before crossing the finish line to celebrate their accomplishments together.

With $375,000 and counting raised, this community is protecting our local environment. Thank you, riders, volunteers, cheerleaders, and sponsors (listed below). We make a pretty epic team 💙

Yesterday's walking book tour brought us to the Agawam River in Plymouth to hear from Tom Pero, author of Salter: The Improbable Return of the Magical Sea-Run Brook Trout to the Little Rivers of Cape Cod. His book explores the ecology and history of brook trout (aka salters), what he called a "revolution" in the restoration of the coastal rivers that the salters called home and the heroes who have made these restorations possible.

We got to hear from Kate Ricketson, Watershed Restoration Project Manager at the Buzzards Bay Coalition, about the restoration project that is set to happen here and what it means for wildlife (including the salters)!

What a great day on Onset Bay! Last week we were proud to host and support the Onset Rowing Challenge, organized by the Buzzards Bay Rowing Club. It was fantastic to see so many rowers out on the water and the community coming together for a fun day on the Bay.
